It`s a waste of a quota spot . Or is Cusack the waste of a quota spot?
Sam was an after thought after the Club`s attempt to sign a quota centre failed. He offers more impact and aggresion than Cusack in my opinion. At the moment it is hard to dislodge players from the first 17 .
Moa`s chance will come and I`m sure he won`t let us down.

Put yourself in Agars shoes for a moment.
Has Cusack/Dowes/Meley or Radford let him down in any of the games yet???
I think you will find the answer is no, so if he dropped a player to bring Moa in it would send out all the wrong signals to other players. Moa will get his chance because the odds of all the forwards being fit throughout the season are slim to none.

I dont see it as being dropped myself. I call it rotating the squad to keep the player fresh as we can in a very physical game. Any slight knocks or pulls i think that they should be rested and not looked as being dropped

No panic, we are four games into the season. Apart from the Crusaders game our form has been good and the props have stayed fit. We don't need to rest players just yet, especially when the props have been spelled better than the last couple of seasons.
Moa will get his chance in the first team sooner or later. I'm just glad to have positive selection problems for a change.

Personally I think that if you are dropped from the team for disciplinary reasons and your replacement gets MOM you dont deserve to simply walk back into the team. You should earn the right to get your place back as its your own fault you lost it in the first place. If we were struggling for options I could see the arguement for bringing him straight back in but just because he is one of our better players it shouldn't guarantee his place IMO.'"
The thing is Tansey was set to play in the halves anyway last week so if he is brought back then that is where he will play with Horne. Turner would be unlucky as he did well and showed some good touches but you have to pick your best side and I think that includes Tansey. He served his punishment so imo he should be brought back in especially as his last game was a motm performance for us.

If he comes back in the halves I can see the reasoning behind that. However, I would personally have him on the bench and give him the chance to earn a starting spot back. Whilst his punishment may have been a one match ban, the associated punishment that goes with that is that whilst your out of the team someone else takes your place and then its their spot to lose.

To a degree that's true but you should always pick your best team.
If Long was fit he would not have to wait to get back in regardless of how well the halves had done.
The halves did ok against Quins. Horne had the better game of the two and had they both played really well we would and should have scored more tries. We were not exactly oozing creativity for amount of field position we had. So imo I would bring Tansey back but would be happy knowing that Turner had done a good job in his first game at halfback for us. I would reward him by giving him a bench spot in place of Houghton and ask him to come on and play from dummy half or share the role with Tansey.

Tansey might at this moment do a better job, but shouldn't we be looking for Turner to be a more regular option to fill in. I think Tansey should be allowed to settle at FB, and if Long or Horne are injured, then better to bring Turner in, then keep changing Tansey from FB to the halves.

Yep, my thoughts exactly, leave Turner with Horne in order to build a bit of consistency, until Longy returns. Bit harsh on MOM Whiting, but if he is on the bench he could prove invaluable cos he has proven how versatile he is

| problem is we need to keep berro as fresh and as fit as possible. this means houghton needs to be on the bench most weeks, but against cas i'd let berro play 80min and swap houghton for turner.
i agree that turner needs some game time if he is going to play in the halves
tansey back to FB. i'm not sure if playing whiting on friday (simply based on his solid performances) is for the greater benefit of the next few games. we need turner or houghton on the bench, and the first choice backs are more effective than whiting. so i'm afraid....i would probably drop whiting
and you can drop whoever you like if it will prove beneficial over the season
