I think you're letting your dislike of them cloud your judgement TBH.
Still, as you say, we'll see at Easter.

| Quote: Staffs FC "Thorman was better than Horne tonight. Quite a bit better. Not sure why he gets picked out when Horne doesn't.'"
Thorman is the guy supposedly to get us round the park, Horne is a supporting stand off whos never been an organisational halfback no matter what the fat McRae thought. Were not goin to win many games with one organiser on the pitch and its twice as hard if the one weve got is far too often hit n miss.
Thought Thorman was poor with ball in hand apart from the kick for Halls try and the kick downfield in the 1st half, Horne was very quiet, never got a break all night.
A good scrumhalf takes the game by the scruff of the neck. Unfortunately we dont possess one at the club.

Didn't think there was much between them TBH, apart from some very good kicks from Thorman in the first half.

Thorman plays on the left and Horne on the right. That's how our halves play. Thorman nipped to the right hand side and created Hall's try but we need more from both.

Didn't Thorman create the Hall try ? Can't remember anything creative from Horne whatsoever orr any breaks. Neither were good but Thorman was better and more influential.

I think we started like a house on fire in the forwards and caught a few teams cold but we deserved the wins because we'd put in the hard work in pre-season. The concerning thing is we seem to be getting worse rather than better. If we're going to make the play-offs, this and last week's games are the ones where we need to be grinding out the wins but we lacked the ideas and defensive urgency in both games bigtime.

He did, although it wasn't anything that special IMO. That's why I said I didn't think there was much between them - both not up to the required standard this week.
Then again, neither had a great many options to work with. The pack struggled to make yards and our off-the-ball running was almost non-existent.

Yup. Also, Thorman doesnt pick our side and set our tactics does he? Thought Jon Sharp did that?

it's hard to criticise the halves if you play so much one out football, seemed to me the half backs only really saw any ball as the fifth tackle approached and that's not enough.
I'm sure the conditions dictated the game plan but hull got sucked into it in the middle and couldn't change as the game progressed until too late and the hairy's did what they always do, grind out an unpretty win, no surprises there for me.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |

I agree, the halves were playing to a set game plan.
End of the day there was very little between both teams and a 40/20 kick probably tipped in in the end!
Disappointed in our lack of plan B though.

A Kirk Yeaman poor defensive play and a 40/20, as well as 78 other minutes of lethargy.

Far from bitter sunshine! Remember I support Hulls Biggest and Best Supported Professional Rugby League team, where as you.......Don't! Your allegiance lies with our 'Poor Relations' in The East and I pity you! Hence your misguided attempts at 'Humour' on this board!
