Quote Barman="Barman"guilty of breaking his ex girlfriends door down and assaulting her,'"
*sigh*
You lot still at it?
Reardon didn't break the door down. He hasn't been found guilty of that. He pled guilty to common assault. Reardon tricked his then wife into opening the door by telling her that their child was in hospital (presumably said child was staying elsewhere since she was with her new boyfriend at the time). She opened the door, Reardon pushed past her, Pryce followed her in. At some point some yelling went on, Mr O'Brien (new boyfriend) had rounders bat in hand. At some point Reardon grabbed his then wife by the arm, causing three bruises (presumably with his fingers) and Pryce pushed Mr O'Brien, causing him oops! to fall on the floor and hit his head on the peddle bin. This all started because Reardon was told in the pub that his then wife had a new fella.
It's in the domestic violence court because Mr & Mrs were Mr & Mrs at the time. It doesn't mean that Reardon has ever hit his wife or indeed grabbed her arm before.
For all we know, this could be the ex-Mrs Reardon's revenge for him divorcing her. Just offering an alternative. We really don't know, do we? It was their marriage, it went wrong, and things can go bad when marriages go wrong.
btw I am female, just for info.
And no, I don't support domestic violence either by males or females. I also think it is a good thing that Hull FC have become involved in a project which is aiming to redirect the lives of those who have committed acts of domestic violence. It's easy to ignore the perps but some of them will be redeemable and hopefully projects such as this one will catch them and turn them around.
