| Quote: Graham Richards "Wow how far from reality could you be. Let me give you an example of why. I have supported the club since 76. I have seen the "glory" years I have also seen the poop we have had to endure as well. I was there with 95000 others in 1980 at Wembley. I have also been there when we have had a few thousand. This current team have everything that they boys of the 80s would have dreamed of. Full time training, excellent salaries (ok no where near what they should get for putting their bodies on the line week in week out for 6 months of the year) but still a good salary giving a decent lifestyle. They have as a body of players delivered far far below their collective potential and for at least 4 seasons now. Yes under Walsh and Casey et al we were poorer results wise, but when you compair the potential of the squads this one has delivered the worst.
I can not as you seem to imply simply walk away and watch another product. The club are not corn flakes, I can't stop getting Kellogs and get a different brand of the same thing, its not possible to support another club. What I can do though is take my cash elsewhere and stop watching the sport full stop. This in my case is close as I have started spending my hard earned on family days (as JR said I should when he went to Friday nights) and I am often spotted at cricket. I have spent less than £100 on HFC this year. That is in real terms a big saving for me and a loss to the club. I have tried to stop moaning as its pointless. The club ain't listening and apathy which was only starting to set in, in February is now widespread and gathering pace week by week.
You state also that the game is about game plans and we should forget flair. Well I guess we forgot flair at least 4 years ago. The trouble is our game plan is either very poor or non existant. Give me a reason for that. Unless your answer mentions poor coaching then you are missing the point again.
Yes there is always someone worst off. One of my best mates is a Wakey fan. Yes they are worst off than us. Don't know if they will be in SL next year or even in some cases in business, BUT to me thats like comparing Waitrose to your local corner shop. We have everything established off the field to be a competative side challenging for honours. Not I might add having a god given right to win everything. That is not reality. Where as we are barely competing against top sides. Last I looked we were 3 points ahead of Wakey on points WON this season. They were out of business and losing players not so long back. That to me is a side like your local shop that is working overtime to stay afloat and making progress. It could be argued they are over achieving. Hull FC the team I will always support can not say that. That is what is frustrating and why we moan. The BOD are satisfied and the coach is the best in the business, the players are 100% committed as they tell us every week in the HDM, so what is going wrong?
Well said. Why people think that fans who take the time and trouble to "moan" somehow don't care about the club is beyond me. The problem is when people like you and I and many others stop caring enough to moan , complain and debate the reasons and simply allow apathy to wash over us. It's like drowning eventually you just give up and let it happen. The most frustrating thing is that in the end there is didley squat we can actually do about it and I just do not understand why the BOD have taken/are taking the position they have on Agar. It just doesn't make sense which ever way you cut it.

And it's so obvious. Appointing him was a poor decision, not sacking him in the last 3 years is a terrible decision and extending his contact was scandalous

"hundreds and thousands" don't agree
"you can't have your flake and eat it"
maybe I shouldn't mock the afflicted.

| Totally agree with Graham Richards comments, always talks sense. I, as a passholder, have found it to be a chore to go to games for the past 3 years. Im bored of the game as a spectacle but im even more bored with the amount of spin and crap coming from the BOD and Agar. Ive missed several home games this season due to finding something better to do or being elsewhere. Hull FC are no longer a priority in my social life like they seemed to be for the past 37 years. I have better things to do, more enjoyable things and people to spend my time on never mind the money side of it. The home games ive missed are Bradford, Wakey and Crusaders. I doubt i can be arrsed to venture to the KC on sunday and be bored out of my head whilst shaking my head in disbelief at another shambolic refereeing display backed up by 2 poor teams. To think weve got 2 thrillathons to follow at the KC in Salford & Catalans along with a probable couple of big games against Wire and Wigan on their relentless charge to the top of the table probably isnt exciting enough for me to take up the option of another year of £200 "well spent" on a pass. I'll give it a miss i think and if im at a loose end one sunny summer afternoon ive always got the option of paying on the gate.

Have to say I am questioning whether I can actually be assed to go on Sunday as my garage needs tidying out

While I can't agree on any of your points apart from us not being a top 4 side I admire your optimism!
I'm still attending home games mainly due to being given a spare pass but I might cheer up if we make a CC semi!
I have a question for you.....how many losses and seasons wasted does it take for a loyal fan like yourself to lose faith?
Sorry if I am being 'all doom and gloom' but I work with 4 rovers fans and this week has been hell so far!'"
I have supported FC for 31 years and I must be honest and admit i have lost faith on several occasions...i am used to it now so i just see the up side of everything. its a must for me as it breaks my heart seeing what potential we have had and not delivering time and time again is almost expected now

| I remember reading articles about Agar when he first came to Hull and in his early years. Most stated that he was a very good up an coming coach with good 'attacking' ideas. We did play some exciting rugby while he was an assistant but since he has become head coach that seems to have gone. Do you think the pressure of been 'top man' stops him trying a fee different ideas, or that he has simply just not got it?

I feel he simply has not got it. every now and again something clicks and we play exciting open rugby but 99% of the time its the same old same old. feel that he should be replaced by an experienced coach with a track record of exciting rugby who has won honours...under agar we have not won a thing...apart from the cc final of 08 we have achieved nothing
