| Quote: Standee "isn't it true that you can;t get an MOT done in Withernwea because when the mechanics went on training and were asked to check the indicators wore working they all said "now it is, now it isn't, now it is, now it isn't"?'"
It could be worse.
At least we've educated the youngsters, growing up over the years, that black and white is the way forward!

If I ever had kids, it would be a straight choice, be Black and White or Black and Blue!!! (but I will never have them, thankfully!)

| Kingy has not helped himself over the years there's no question of that. The club must shoulder some of the blame for letting him get away with it.
I in no way begrudge the players a social life, they need it, they are young well paid men who are big characters who need to let off steam now and again. Some take it too far and some do it too regular. This is where the club should step in.
The coaching of kingy was mentioned and I'd agree he hasn't been pushed or made to work hard enough to improve his game and become a regular international. The club seemed happy to give him year on year contract as he was a Hull lad and kingy isn't going to turn it down is he. The professionalism of the club hasn't been good enough for a long time, there are signs that this is trying to be addressed but also the coaching side has been poor. When did we last have a world class coach, Brian Smith? 20 years on and we're probably less professional then we were under him. Odd considering we are now a full-time professional sport.
IMO with better coaching over the past 5-10 years players like King, Rich Horne, Paul Cooke & Yeaman to mention a few could have all been far better.

Not at all, but he's been far from a model professional, that's all I have said.

| We all know Kingy loved a few pints now and again, fair enough, but its gone against him finally for not being the consumate pro but the bloke never got himself in any real bother off the park whereby the police have been knocking on the club door explaining "what Paul had done the night before" unlike some of the players weve had on our books. He did his boozin (or most of it) within a 20 metre radius of walton street/anlaby rd junction and was really no bother to anyone, it was just the fact he had a talent better than all of his streetmates around him, unfortunately, away from the game he just wanted to be one of the boys, sway away from his responsibilities of being a pro sportsman and have a beer with those friends. Yes i know we could name others with "a similar attitude".
Good luck Paul, you've had 9 lives, unfortunately you've used them all up and in most professional team sports nowadays, coaches especially, sometimes are sceptical about taking risks on guys who may let them down with unprofessional attitudes etc and put their own positions at risk.
He's had a damn good run and i suppose we could all laugh and cry at some of stuff weve seen and heard over the past 11 years or so involving Paul

Well put and I think Paul would probably agree with most of it.
