| What a great find, he seems so calm and doesn't panic. He forced the loose ball for the last try with his rush defence and then had the speed of thought to peel straight off and pick up the loose ball and he was away, he then kept his composure and made the correct choice with a perfect inside ball to Kelly.
His 2 tries were never in doubt, as soon as he caught them he just cooly and calmy got the ball down, there was no hint of panic or excitement in his face at all. He's a natural finisher.

He has been over here for quite a long time and has a British passport, so I guess he probably does.

| What’s the score with his contract? Didn’t he only sign to the end of this season?
We could do with a good right winger at Cas!

From what we saw last night right wing is the least of your problems!

You’ve not seen the rest of our games.
We have a right winger with no pace, no strength and no positional sense. He can’t catch either.
Right wing IS our biggest problem.

Half back is by far your biggest problem

Well yes, at the moment, but the problem that is he’s sat in the stands. Not that we don’t have one. When Gale comes back, him and a Trueman are a fantastic pair.
Right wing is the position where don’t actually have anyone, injured or not. James Clare is our starting right-winger. We don’t actually age anyone else who can play there. That says everything you need to know.

Truemans over rated and gale hadn't played for nearly 2 years so I wouldn't be pinning 5oo much hope on those 2

Jake is just 20 and has played 50 first grade games. You won’t find many players that age with that number of games. Most 20 year old halves are playing in the lower league. At 20, Luke Gale was playing in the third tier with Doncaster.
With Gale, time will tell I suppose. My opinion (hope!) is that the qualities he has are more in terms of organisation and direction. Achilles injuries tend to impact on pace and acceleration - not the attributes Gale had anyway. His game is built on guiding the team around the field and making sure we put on the right plays at the right time. Gale’s rugby brain is his biggest attribute, and injury doesn’t take that away.

| Don't rate Trueman personally. Has a few half decent touches here and there but every player does something good once in a while (Lolohea just made a break from a kick return, for example). He manages to escape any criticism because he is still young. Might go on to be a great player but Cas won't win anything in the next few years with him as one of their starting halfs unless he improves massively.
Edit: Kind of proved my point with the above post. As soon as somebody has criticised him the only defending argument is to mention his age.

Edit
He’s certainly not the finished article, that’s for sure. But the problem is that playing at half back often takes experience, but you can only get experience if a club is willing to give it to you (particularly with the absence of a reserve team at the moment).
How long is it since we produced a top class British half back in this country? Perhaps we need to be playing the long game (as I think Cas are with Trueman) and accepting that young halves need experience before they will be top halves.
