Yes seems hardly a coincidence, no doubt he will be in the stands this evening. My guess is the story has been rolled out very deliberately, since I reckon the issue of the fee is not new, as it has been mentioned by several posters in the past on our TIW Site and on here.

There were very high level nods and winks that he had signed for us from within the Club, but that may well have related to him being happy with the suggested terms of a contract, in the event of Hull being prepared to sell him etc etc as we go through this "Phoney War" period of not being able to say anything about signings until September, which you are suffering from more than most!

I would expect that It's a done deal and Hull are releasing this to the media so it looks like we're not letting one of our top players go without a fight.

As above could be a great deal for the club. He is replaceable its the kicking we will perhaps miss the most. Think this paper talk is to let fans know why we are selling him (family reasons) rather then being forced to sell him for cash etc.

What's stalled it is that widnes made an offer of £50,000 to buy out his contract, but Hull F.C want a fee of around £100,000 to release him a year early from his contract.

I knew about this almost 2 months ago, infact I private messaged a few of you.

I think he'll go, one thing we don't want is a player that does not want to be here, with the new philosophy at Hull, and next season will be another season where our new players/squad will come together, I doubt the hull board and coaching staff want any player unhappy causing an unsettled camp.

Fantastic player, if he goes he goes, and he will be missed.
