You're probably right about Crusaders. I just don't think it's fair that both clubs are as bad as each other yet one will stay.
Keep both, for me. Give Wakey's new owners a chance and have a 15 team SL.

Should bring back relegation & promotion, made a joke of our sport and forced clubs like ours to end up with dross coaches!!

I don't think it would be fair either. I'm not in favour of a 15 team league either though, personally, I think the week off is wrong. If you're to give Wakey another chance too I'd sooner go for 16 teams, abandon the magic weekend, and shorten the playoff system to 6 teams and get rid of another week there. So 2 teams added to SL but only 2 weeks onto the season instead of 4.

I like the idea of a 16 team competition with a 6 team play off system, but it would only work if there's P&R, or else there'd be a lot of nothing games.

I agree again, bring it back. But I'd keep a minimum criteria system in place so that NL teams still have to get their house in order before they can be promoted.

The P&R scrappage was supposed to encourage the use of youth, but with the club trained player requirements etc. that should hopefully happen anyway now, especially as the non-fed exemptions such as Manu reach retirement.

I agree on the 2nd point.
On the 1st, I'm not sure how you could keep a minimum criteria system, would seem unfair to say "Sorry lads, you've finished top and haven't lost a game all year. But, you can't be promoted because you don't meet certain criteria", would seem very unfair on the players in that team.

wakey will go down any talk of going to 15 or 16 teams is a no go straight away, we need teams in the championship to improve on and off the field espcially of it to then maybe 1 day work towards 2 full time leagues with promotion and relegation but at the moment theres only leigh and halifax that are decent but both of them still have loads to improve on.

if someone like batley with no effence intended was champions and was to come up to super league they would struggle hugley and it woudnt be great for the sport. now maybe you could have promotion and relegation with a minimum standards rule?

A bit unfair, maybe, but necessary for certain things. For example, solvency. What if a team decide to spend more than they can really afford gambling on the extra spending getting them promotion and the golden goose? You have to make sure they don't even have that option.

Minimum ground conditions would be another area to be stringent.

You could have a 50% of turnover rule, I suppose. This would probably be the best way to go about it.

Exactly, something like that. There's no use having clubs go to the wall in the pursuit of a SL payday, and ATEOTD, that's in the players' interests. Probably an assessment of manageable debt wouldn't go amiss either.

It makes sense. Sadly, that means the herberts at Red Hall are very unlikely to do anything like it.

I like the idea that the RFL can revoke licenses, but the game needs P&R back. Kids came through before, don't see any reason why they wouldn't.

With the reducing overseas players the kids should come through, there's no other option now really. It had gotten to a bad state with the numbers of journeymen coming over, but that's hopefully been addressed now.
