| Not sure he will be on a massive wage - as has been said maybe a 1 year deal tbd in a couple of months. The young wingers are waiting in the wings but could be a couple of years before they are regular first team material.

| Calderwood has been excellent for us since the moment he signed. Throughout the crap we endured last year he was one of the few who looked consistently interested. Added to that, he is one of the fastest wingers in SL.
I cannot, for the life of me, see a reason why any Hull fan would want to get rid of him. It baffles me.

Thats the problem with agents and the system, you have to offer people deals early, sometimes too early or agents start touting their client about.
Not sure how the RFL or anyone in sport could stop it.
I would like to see Hull sign up Houghton and Hall early though.

I maybe being very critical here, but I dont think he has been excellent I think he has worked hard a done a good job, but if he is on a high wage (and I suspect he is), then he may be worth a sacrifice, with younger cheaper replacements ready.
Unless they are amazing wingers such as Vaikona i dont see the point in spending a hugh ammount on a winger.
As i have siad he works hard, but apart from chasing kicks doesnt offer enough going in attack to jusitfy a big contract. Maybe if we use him more this season and he gets more open space he will prove me wrong.

Agreed. Too early to be discussing new deals until we see how players are performing. However Hall would be an exception for me due to his age, I'd get him signed asap.

| Still has bags of pace, enthusiasm for the game and is an excellent cover tackler,
the only worry for me is his tries have dried up since he left Leeds,
keep an experienced winger on decent wages and not use his abilities to the full or let him go and give one of the youngsters a chance?
over to R.A....

| Calders has only had one game so far so his try scoring opportunities have been limited and last season the winger was lucky to see the ball unless they came in for a run.

I don't suppose he'll be on a massive wage. I suspect he'll be one of the middle-earning players in the squad and good value for it, IMO.

On what basis do you suspect he's being paid 'a huge amount'. I've seen nothing to indicate that that's the case.

He's an excellent finisher. If he gets the service, he'll score a hatful. As hullbg as said, last season he was on a hiding to nothing and this season he's played one game.

| I would offer him another year, as (apart from Yeaman) we would still have a fairly inexperienced back line.

| As already posted, I'd think he's a mid range earner. There wasn't a bidding war for him and he was struggling for selection at Wigan. Depends as ever on the alternative. Seems very unlikely we'll go for an outside quota back with Fitz OOC and the quota falling, and we have plenty of emerging but inexperienced talent at wing/centre so makes sense to re-sign him IMO. I love his enthusiasm and as Phil Clarke referenced he's probably one of the best try-savers in the comp. Like Raynor, he suffers from our lack of service from centre.

| I'd resign him too. He's the only out and out winger we have at the club and could do with his big game experience to bring the likes of Briscoe, Lyne and Tuffour along.

| At the moment I woudl keep Calders, but this could change if the right person came up or if any prospects stood out. There is always a place for an experienced player in the backs and Claders has much still to offer.
Hanging on to Hall is going to be hard, I know of several clubs chasing him now and he passed up a very large wedge loss at the Bulls last time to stay with us. Sending him to Widnes may have seen like a good idea but he made some very good contacts with the clubs over that side whilst there.

| I would sign him I like him, keen, fast and an experienced winger, I reckon he will have a great season this year.
