What was it about him that meant he couldn't get another club? He was popular in the stands, and was a great player (I thought so at least) but was there something about him that made clubs shy away? Maybe he wanted $1,000,000 and when he didn't get it he thought "right, carpets are the way for me then".

He priced himself out of the market at a time when SL was awash with talented hookers.

I've often thought the same myself
Wonder if Deano would be interested in buying the club with his millions?

IIRC he had only come over on a temporary basis and had always intended to return to Aus and go into business. When he was asked to stay he put a price on himself which reflected the costs of moving his family here and missing out on the business opportunity. That was too high, as you say, and he went home instead.
I don't think he was bothered TBH.

10603.jpg Is it true that Richard Agar's favorite movie of all time is Groundhog Day or does he just generally like the same boring s**t day after day, season after season?:10603.jpg |

He only came over on a short term contract for part of the season. We did not need him the next season as we had already signed a certain Richard Swaine, who at the time was the best hooker in the world.

Depends, if he has $2m Aus then he doesn't have £1m at the present exchange rate.
Also, does he have cash, or is it paper money?

Nobody 'got rid' of Triester. He came over on a temporary contract because we didn't have a hooker until Swain arrived. He really wasn't very interested in staying here - see my explanation of how he left.
Don't tell me you were one of those who were saying we should have cancelled Swain's contract and kept Triester?

| A lot of our current squad are in the carpet business. They lay down and let teams walk all over them.
