The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Relying on youth would be ideal if we had the potential, I'm not sure we have, the crop of youngsters at the club is nowhere the standard of 2005, which still didn't bear any major fruit, and our problems developing top class talents such as Tommy Lee, Craig Hall and Danny Washbrook into first teamers I'm not optimstic for the future.'"
Hkr have been promoted since then, the will be signing some youngsters who would have signed for us.

Why pick on Andy Last? The academy in general over the last few seasons hasn't produced the number of players that Wigan have for example but still hasnt done bad and FC still do have a high % of home grown players in the squad.
More recently you've seen the likes of Cunningham and Nicklas play 1st team. Prior to that the likes of Houghton, Briscoe, Burnett, Hall all came through. As long as there's 2 or 3 coming into the 1st team squad each year there really isnt an issue, bigger problem is Wigan having 6 or 7 to join the squad each year.

| Lasts job is to have them ready for sl, their development to top sl players isn't (as far as I know) listed under his duties.

Houghton definitely, Briscoe debatably since he came from Fev. Beyond that though you illustrate my point as Hall, Burnett etc haven't been good enough to become first team regulars.. fair enough they graduated from the academy but ultimately as far as FC are concerned they failed to serve their purpose. You can't really use Cunningham, Nicklas or Lynn as none of them have become established first-teamers as yet...maybe they will be over the next couple of years and prove me completely wrong but as things stand at the moment I'd like to see something being done to try and improve the number of academy graduates that become first team regulars.

Agree, but there's a difference between excelling at academy level and being ready for SL.. I think our problem could be down to that.

Disagree about Burnett - lots of players playing first team SL for other clubs would struggle to get into our second row let alone a young kid. A loan spell might see him playing first team SL on a regular basis for another team.

I for one think our academy is doing good. More good news this morning about our home grown talent, well done Liam. Looking forward to seeing his break into the 1st team.

If you think the academy producing one bona fide home-grown first team regular in 4 or 5 years is 'doing good' then that's fair enough.

Agree 2nd row is probably the hardest position for someone to break through into, I thought Burnett was going to Wakey permanently though not on loan?

I am probably wrong about a few, but a number of those are home grown, are they not?

I do agree with you in some respects but in all fairness in the 35+ years I've been watching us I can't recall us ever producing masses of bone fide home grown players. I think we do alright, but admit it could be better.
