Sezer and Rapana were way down the target list
Still dont see the logic in signing Rapana.He is not a superstar so wont bring in extra fans and we are covered at both full back and wing.
Leeds were supposed to be interested in him but that was as a wing replacement so i understand that but with us he is likely to be moved around from full back to wing and then tried in the centre.
Why cant we just sign a quality centre which is what we need

Rapana and Asiata may not necessarily be the best players in their position along with some of the other signings but they are big on leadership and culture, 2 things we are in desperate need of. A similar example would be SKD across the river, as a player he was nowhere near what he was but he went there and set standards and helped turn the club around.

Rapana has already spoken about wanting to come in with Cartwright and change the attitude and culture at the club.

Abdul as interchange 13, Asiata can’t do 80 minutes.

No way will or can Abdul play 13, he's not fit enough for a stint in the middle.

A Cust/sezer pairing at halfback is far better than an Abdul/Sezer pairing, Cust provides that running option whereas Abdul and Sezer are very similar players....wonder if it's too late to pull out of the Abdul deal and use that money elsewhere on a centre or forward

This is how I see it, Abdull and Sezer too similar both left sided and left footed players.

A fit Abdul (I know) has a better running game than both of those.

He has already signed and is non quota, not sure how releasing him would help, no good having his cap money if there isn't a quality centre or forward to replace him with.

Yeah, that would be a really smart move wouldn't it. That would do our reputation with players and agents the world of good.

Also Asista is an 80 minute player, think Leigh have been cautious with him since his injury, but most games he plays 80 minutes

Just being realistic. You cannot sign a player and then release him for no reason other than you've changed your mind. The club is enough of a basket case as it is.

People saying Abdull won’t play 13 I have no idea what the thinking is with JA but think Cartwright must really like Cust wouldn’t be surprised to see him start as the 6. We were desperate for a halfback for this season and seemingly didn’t show an interest in him when he was available after what was a pretty solid couple of years in a winning side, strange that we now sign him after a disappointing season. Highly thought of at Manly JC must have a plan for him.
