Why isn't it? All it shows is that ALL Clubs gather support when they do well.

Local kids have always had the chance to watch City. They just chose not to for the last few decades
Is that the same bandwagon that a lot of Hull FC fans have jumped on since our move to the KC?
Anything that raises the profile of our city is good news and welcome.
btw. City had an average crowd of 18500 in their last season in the bottom League.

I'm not denying that! I just think comparing a competitive league game at home to local rivals Bradford to an expected easy win in the cup against Swinton is a daft comparison. The last 3 years at Boulevard our crowds were decent.

But yet others compare City playing Orient ten years ago and a full house against Manchester United today.
No difference.

Were our crowds anything to write home about before we were promoted to the Super League?
ALL Clubs gather support when doing well.

My point was that most of the "new Hull City fans" aren't Hull City fans at all. They're Premiership star spotters who jumped aboard to watch Man U, Arsenal et al down at the local stadium. My next door neighbour, a Blackburn fan (?? (I know! )) cheerfully admits he's one of them. And I reckon there's another five or six thousand such "Hull City" fans stealing the seats from the "poor deprived local kids"... NOT!
And you're right. That rugby international would have raised the profile and local economy of our city and that would have been welcome.
Why did your chairman block it, again?

First and foremost, I'm a fan of both Clubs.
I'm not defending Paul Duffen for not allowing the RL International. However it must be asked why the RL wouldn't wait until a date could be confirmed.
Also, where did all the "new" Hull FC fans come from after OUR move to the KC?

Super League star spotters? Desperate to see the likes of Wakey and Leeds? Or Hull FC fans?
Go figure.

| Mixed feelings on this today.......I don't 'do' soccer, i've never been a World Cup 'sheep' or an FA fanny, and get really p!ssed off when I buy the HDM on a Monday only to find that they seem to have bought a job-lot of black and amber ink from Del Boy! even when they lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Hate the fact that an important day in the RL calendar was scrapped at the KC because Duffen and Co created obsticles , I can't be doing with all the 'new age' City Fans that you see and hear everywhere you bleedin' look these days. These idiots have been saying that Hull is a football town and has never been a Rugby League City.....Yep....Idiots!!!!! Then.....above all that.....A handful of these so called city supporters were slamming the fact that Clive Sullivan was gonna have a statue in his honour on the CLIVE SULLIVAN WAY They were saying 'why should he be honoured, What did he ever do???'....Again IDIOTS!!! They reckon Deano should be there instead.....But.....HE HAS NEVER ACTUALLY DONE ANYTHING OTHER THAN SCORE A GOAL AT WEMBLEY.......Sully was a real legend in our lifetime!
Now....the positives.....errrm......It'll keep the pubs busy next season with sky sports and all that.
Then theres errrrrrrm.......nah....stuck now!
To sum it up......Could't give a kippers eyelash what they do!

[quote="Wellsy13":1juz9zgo]To us REAL fans, there's no better feeling than winning competitions. Getting to a final is next. Then a top 6 finish or semi-final appearance. Then I suppose the derby counts as the most important league fixture.
Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.
Quite sad, really! [/quote:1juz9zgo]
SPOT ON!
A Hull KR fan about Billy Slater:

TBF, the first match I went to was only to see Richie Barnett Jnr, it was always my dream to see such a high profile person.

That´s perhaps why I'm looking for a Black and White Miracle as I don't want Villa in 5th
