It's a decent offer to see us take on the best team in the league. Just bought a couple of extra tickets for a fiver each. As Ullfc alluded too, hopefully a promising performance even if we don't win will ensure some of the newbies or fans who have stayed away in recent seasons will want to come again.

There was then some nervousness for another month until Takeover finalisation was confirmed. We've since shifted another 3k it seems. Clubs 'Dinner with Thirkhill' looks good on the photos, club seems more together than it has for a while. I am now in 'let's get on with the rugby' mode though, every club comes out with the same soundbites of how amazing their winter has been every year

Club hopeful of a crowd of 14K for the Wigan game, would be a huge achievement given recent years. Plenty been done to improve matchday experience, Flags, Live music, New games at HT, Fireworks/Lightshow. Awful lot of work seeming to be going on off the pitch which can only be applauded.

Not that we’ll know any time soon, as even though they have a finite, limited capacity and sell out every game, they refuse to declare any attendances until about May.

It's all very much early days yet but I can't help but be impressed by Thirkill. He certainly appears to be a man that knows his onions, is very much realistic about the situation the club was and still is in, whilst being optimistic of what the club wants to achieve and where it wants to go, the expectations etc but being grounded about it and tempering the hopes/dreams etc with realism. We certainly do seem to be in good and capable hands under the new ownership thanks to Adam. As has been said whilst it all looks very promising, the proof is very much in the pudding and there's is a long way to go before we are back challenging on a regular basis. You have to give credit to the new owners for their initiatives especially for this opening game Hundreds of cheap kids passes sold,now 2 tickets for £10 for mernbers and kids go free with a paying adult Do the SMC still have to buy a certain amount of tickets per game from the club and are they allocated as pass sales or just attendance?

But it's been this way for over 20 years so we are always comparing like for like. I believe IMG are using stadium safety reports which is the actual clicks of the turnstiles to avoid any games played by the clubs.

Club just posted that we will be treated to fireworks, light show, flags in the stand and singer for the Wigan game. And most shockingly of all...Boot It has been replaced with a new halftime game, times really are changing!

Hopefully as many membership holders as possible take advantage of the offers. I've got two lapsed supporters going. They're not expecting miracles but a decent performance and an enjoyable night out and they may be persuaded to attend a few more games during the season.

Every week (throughout the god knows how many years it has been ongoing) my mate asks me 'do they win the van if the ball goes in'!!! I think he needs to cut back a little on his pre-match refreshment. By the end I was just humouring him by telling him that only local plumbers and electricians were allowed to take part. I hope, for the sake of my sanity, that the new h/t game (whatever form it may take) is a good deal easier to understand for all middle-aged blokes who've had a drink pre-match (or possibly even three drinks!!!).

Funny you should mention Brian Potter Because last week when the club sent my mate the wrong season tickets I said to him, "send the buggers back" and we instantly had a spontaneous sing song!!!! On a serious note I see Cam Scotts torn his hammy at Wakey he doesn't have much luck does he, but as many have said on here he does appear injury prone.

It may sound arrogant when you're demanding that after finishing joint bottom, but hopefully the changes that have been made would encourage anyone to give it another shot. With them both coming off the back of serious injury maybe they felt the care they received was sub-par, and by the reports coming out of the club, it probably was.

I think Myler is talking more long term, I'd be suprised if any fringe players would want to leave Hull, hard to imagine many other clubs where there would be a better pathway to the first team.

I can't imagine he's talking about anybody right now. The fact he uses the word "eventually" and then says "time will tell". But he is right in what he is saying, because eventually (to use the word again) one of our younger players surely will get their head turned, unless we can show (and it is what we are aiming to do) that their is a genuine pathway into the first team and be able to use Martin, Balmforth, Charles, Kemp as examples that that is true
