His name is Allam and what ever he said, I'd believe the moon was made up of Titanium, Magnesium, Sodium, Calcium, Iron, Aluminium, Silicon and Oxygen.

Quote: Lambrettaman "Personally, I wouldn't allow planning for retail on the site, but then I wouldn't insist that the site wasn't available to start with, I'd discuss what would be allowed and what benefits it would bring to the city I was supposed to represent.'"

Do you seriously expect the local authority to hand over a public asset valued at £millions to a privately owned company? What is the rationale for it? Surely the stadium should be given to city and Hull FC if it is handed over at all?

As a pass holder for both clubs I want to continue to watch both clubs at the KC so this would be fine with me icon_smile.gif

Quote: Lambrettaman "The plan was for a £114m sport village, not for an out of town shopping centre.

But your post is a perfect example of the mentality that leads to Hull missing out on such developments.

The prime reason given for not wanting to progress this idea, was that the moving of Hull Fair was not up for discussion. So we have an eyesore for fifty weeks of the year, just so that we can site a fair there for a week a year, a travelling fair that could be sited anywhere.'"

You really do irritate the Hell out of me Mr Allam jnr - I presume because you park your scooter within the confines of our Stadium you don't realise that Walton Street is used as a Car Park for us (Hull FC) and the Local Football team who I believe aspire to attract the likes of Man United and other proper great football teams in our country to play them shortly. Perhaps we should change it to parking bays and put a few trees and plants in so it is no longer an eysore. By the way as you seem to be an obvious resident of the East Riding why don't you just give up with your insults. Your Dad and you will never own our Stadium now bod off.

Quote: Lambrettaman "Personally, I wouldn't allow planning for retail on the site, but then I wouldn't insist that the site wasn't available to start with, I'd discuss what would be allowed and what benefits it would bring to the city I was supposed to represent.'"

But it is finally confirmed as a planned retail development, by Allam this week in the Daily Mail[icommercial activities around the stadium – cafeterias, shops, supermarkets[/i - to have all this to create income for the club so that in the future it can be self-financing and not relying on me.

What if I dropped dead tomorrow? You don’t want the club relying on you. And the whole idea was spending £30 million to create this but then the club will get an income.

'Unfortunately, our local council had different views and I did not spend the money. We not only had different views but there was lying and cheating which was not on. So I severed my relationship with the council and said that’s the end of it.'"

As it now appears the "sporting village" never was, and you yourself admit that retail development there would be a bad idea, I ask again, "What has the council done that is so bad?". Furthermore, how have they misrepresented Allam, what lies have they told, and what is their hidden agenda? To everyone not bearing tiger-striped spectacles, the fact that the sporting village has morphed into a income-generating retail complex would indicate that any misrepresentation has been made on the part of Allam, not the council, wouldn't you agree?

I put this to you. Allam bought Hull City purely because he was under the impression that ownership of the stadium would follow relatively easily. Once obtained, he could mortgage it, develop the land around for his own private gain and invest in City. Once in the Premiership, they become an attractive proposition as a top-league club with their own stadium to new buyers so he can then sell the club at a huge profit. He's a businessman, not a football man, as he said in the Yorkshire Post this week. None of the above is possible without ownership of the stadium. I.e., he's screwed if he doesn't get it and Hull City becomes a white elephant from which it will be hard to claw back his investment.

I don't know if he didn't do his homework properly and didn't realise the protective covenants that were in place to protect the land, and, indeed the caveats that restrict the sale of a public asset, but rlthis Yorkshire Postrl interview would indicate that he believed obtaining the freehold would not only be easy but had also been his intention from Day 1, which somewhat backs up my thoughts

Quote: Lambrettaman "We are not football people, we are business people. The man is not for turning.'"

It's going to be a long summer, I think.

Love the article in the YP and highlights some of the problems very well in his own words.

I remember his first interview offering cheap tickets so everyone can see City in the Premier League. And when asked about Rugby League responded with a line of only investing cash if both teams merged as it would be unfair to support just one club.

Fast forward a couple of years with this latest interview, we can now understand how he was looking to finance some of those cheaper tickets and he is also asking the council to give him the stadium so he can ensure one of the cities sporting teams is self financing.

Ask each club in the Premier League or closer to home NH or AP how sports clubs tend to be financed in the current economic climate. "We are not football people, we are business people. The man is not for turning." seems to be a direct quote from Dr Allam and would suggest the self financing model is there intention rather than a gift.

On a personal note for Dr Allam can anyone one here even start to think of a price a person would be able to attract for a self financing football club in the Premier League on the open market?

Even though city been in the premier league is a good thing (City of Hull reasons), i was hoping they wouldn't go up and then be hit with the financial fair play next season.

Then see what Dr Allam did then.

I assume admin's happy with this one, as it's from an FC fan.

Pop back on there, I'll let you know where I am and you can pop round.
