| If we have a chance to get him it would be an absolute no brainer. Imagine the marketing and PR potential it would give us. Not to mention the lift the team would get as a whole, plus his performance each game. Bums on seats plus the opportunity to develop Sneyd, Tuimavave, HTW and Dean, it would be the best signing we could hope for in 2017.

| I hope we are able to sign a marque player next season and Benji would be just the ticket.
Looking at the wider picture, the Super League needs this extension of the salary to work. We have fallen behind other competitions and need to catch up.
Take today for instance. Danny Captiani has signed for Wasps for next season on £300k pa, yet he's barely an England RU fringe player these days.
Super League is trumped by the NRL, then the RFU and then French Rugby Union. We need to find a way to attract the better players during or close to their prime, otherwise they'll always remain or move to the more lucrative options above.

I predict Tuimavave will end up replacing Pryce. I believe No 6 is the best position to fully utilise his skills.

For me, having him at centre keeps the opposition guessing what he's going to do with the ball. He put in a couple of cracking kicks on sat, and also set up a couple of breaks for talanoa. I'd keep him there, based on 3 performances, but things may change.

I agree. We have seen some great play on that left side and I hope it continues.
Anyway, if we dont bring in Marshall then I'd prefer to see Abdull get a run ahead of Los at 6. And if that doesnt work then HTW and Dean might be the future in that position so give them a try.

Each to their own opinion, thats fair enough. My opinion is that we have a who has the ability to put fear in to the opposition, can go past players, can put his winger away and has a great step. Why change that by putting him to S/O?

Agree. He's a failed standoff as it stands. At 24 he's not managed to crack it. But currently looks the most dangerous centre in the comp. He looks as I've said before like joel moon. A failed half who's attributes suit centre more. In fact carlos looks more dangerous on his feet.
If it's an option to sign Marshall get it done!! His passing and kicking game would be unreal off the back of this pack

That's my view too.
Even though we've only seen him play at centre three times, we've been crying out for a centre like him for the best part of a decade. The comparisons to Joel Moon when he first moved to centre are fair ones IMO.
It's good too know he can slot in at s/o if needs be, but we'd be daft to move one of our most potent threats out of a position he's getting a lot of success in. That said, it's a long season and things could change.
Would I take Benji Marshall? - yes, in a flash. At the start of the 2017 season he'd be nearly 32, so maybe a 2year deal and 3rd year option would be the most sensible approach. He's a star, a genuine world class player who would have a huge effect on Dean & Wilson and the club as a whole.
Dean & Wilson are still very young, and would be 20 come the start of 2017. I'd like to see both get game time, but next year may be too early to rely on either as first choice halves.
Abdull is the other option, and has proved himself more than capable at 6, but his position in the long-term may be at 13?

Agree with both, have to say out of all the signings we've made Tuimavave is the stand out because he has performed in that centre role so well. Yes Pritchard & Manu have been great but non of us if we are honest really knew what to expect from Tuimavave.
Radford deserves huge credit for that decision to play him at centre, for me he has touches of Richie Barnett Snr about him and if plays half as well as the Panther did then leave him at Centre.

Don't see that 1 so much. If I was going back a few years I'd compare to Richie Barnet snr. But currently looks very much like moon

My experience of him playing centre comes from watching him play there in the NRL. In particular for Newcastle last season when defensively he was useless and did nothing in attack.
I have watched him since he set the NYC competition alight playing as a No6 alongside Shaun Johnson and also playing for Samoa.

| I think I'd rather judge Carlos on how he is doing now, rather than a few years ago, in a different league playing with a different coach and players.
I heard bad reports about Talanoa wing play from Steve And Jim from the NRL bins 13, lucky I choose to ignore them.
Seriously though, he may get a chance so let's see how he does before making him our long term 6, we have a lot more options at 6, than centre, so unless something changes I'd leave him there.

As I said, everyone's got their opinion. But there are a couple of points
He is no longer playing in the NRL and the early signs are that he is suited to in the ESL.
I can only assume that he played in NYC with Shaun Johnson (established NRL player) a few years ago. I'd also hazard a guess that Chris Thorman (no offence Chris, if you are reading this, but your time ah Hull wasn't your best) would look good playing along side Johnson.
There would be no point moving a player to S/O if the who replaced him were not good enough. This has been proved time and again with Hull spending on halves when our have not been of the standard good enough to open or go past defences.

I never remember him playing at centre in the NRL. But after we signed i found highlights of the reserves last year. 1st game I came across although had 6 on his back played centre. Scored 2 set 1 up.
He looks like he's got everything to be an all round threat at centre. Combined with a real spark with his wingman. We've spent nearly 10 yrs finding a real centre. If he continues this yr as hes started then it would be madness to move him. Dean and wilson are more than anything trying to get their bodies up to standard as both small lads. Abdull is ready and waiting. In the market centres are harder to get hold of than halves.
Everything points to carlos being some1 we can plan around in making our attack genuinely scary on the edge
