Edwards hardly played super league, & if he did it was probably at London, iirc, can't remember Hanley playing in SL, correct me if I'm wrong, he played loose forward in his prime too.

Hanley's career was over before SL began, and he was no half back for the vast majority. He was the greatest player I ever saw though.

Strange,hanley played more than 100 games for leeds between 1991 and 1995, scoring more than a try a game.When did S/L start stan?

I will correct you,edwards played at wigan from 1983 to 1997,except for a year at balmain,and also played 20 odd S/L games for bradford and london 1998 to 2000.I think that puts a large hole in your theory.

Edwards was a good player, not great though, and well past his best by the time the game moved to summer. In his pomp, Long possibly has been the best 7 in the SL era. Unfortunately for Hull, his pomp was 5/6 years before he turned up at the KC.

I gave my opinion and for me hanley was the best player ive seen and edwards 2nd,and roger the dodger third as halfbacks.

Tony Myler was the best no 6 I have seen...best no7 for 1 season was Sterling but best pre S/L was Gregory...best in S/L was Long.
