Quote: ccs "Actually, he replied "I'd say slim, but we'll see" when asked about the chances of Pitts playing, which could imply almost anything.'"
Ah right, knew it was something like that. I think it's a little naive to say it could imply anything though, given the decimation of our front row and subsequent shuffling around and inclusion of two relatively inexperienced back rowers.

Quote: carl_spackler "You better hope that Crooks doesn't play on Sunday, otherwise your argument is in bits. Either way, I think that you are wrong. Whilst his defence isn't brilliant, it's not the disaster you're making it out to be.

I also agree with others, Pitts is the more baffling omission if he's fit, just seems bizarre.'"

Crooks was dropped through bad form, & I am suprised he isn't this week, pitts is a decent squad player & he should be in this week whilst our 1st choice forwards are out but the coach must see something different on the training park.

Is pitts injured? Didn't he do OK in his one appearance?

miller isn't very good which his fan club seem to ignore, although there must come a point where it's worth trying him.

Would make sense as he hasn't been in the Donny squad the last couple of weeks either IIRC.

But hes not good enough to play..why isnt AP asking radders to play him if hes paying him a wage? because hes not good enough..in 2 & a bit seasons at wests 1st grade he played 9 times..hardly a glittering career is it? he came because of Gentle saying hes the next best thing.. & as we needed a SH..AP just signed him blindfolded!! says it all for miller dosent it as we tried to sign Gale. & i never said he cant have an opinion..i just told him Miller is no good for our team.

Does anyone think radford wouldn't be playing miller if he was the best option we have at SH?

I thought Miller hade something last season to kick on this season but for whatever reason he has not had a chance. Maybe he does not fit in Radders plans. As it is he either gives Miller a chance instead of him stuck on the sidelines or Hull release him. His situation is not doing anyone any good and it needs sorting quick.

Miller was a 21 year old kid who came across half the world mid season to play the hardest position on the field. In a down in confidence team, behind a small getting spanked every week pack, with a disinterested half back partner!
Far far to early to right him off for me, and since he has history with rankin I'd like to see him have a run or 2.
When we have a full pack a backline up of
1 shaul
2 lineham
3 crooks
4 yeaman
5 binman
6 rankin
7 Miller
Looks okay to me, has potent try scoring ability, line breaking ability, speed power size and elusiveness. The big question is again can the halves prompt probe and kick sufficiently. Worth finding out with them though instead of using a top class 9 at scrum half!

Also on a side note Miller in this corresponding fixture last year was man of the match

Nice to see someone else with a bit of common sense.

I like that back line, but I'd put Horne at 6, Rankin to FB and leave Shaul out.
