As statements of intent go they don't get much bigger than this. The fact that we can attract a world class player is a real coup for the club and shows how far the club has come in a short space of time.
I do hope this doesn't mean we will lose Manu, maybe he will come off the bench? Maybe Tickle will go to prop? Either way no doubting Ellis as a player, he was fantastic at Leeds and has won three consecutive player of the year awards at Wests so hopefully more of the same.
On the previous thread and the Leeds rumour, stand by what I was told, I didn't make it up. I got told this last week and on Sunday I got told that we had signed him and it would be announced this week. I posted both rumours on twitter but chose to believe the Leeds one. More than happy to be wrong!!

moa all but gone,tickle could replace him,but think ogre would stay with a good offer,wouldnt like too lose moa n o meley tho!. Keeping manu would mean a lot of money on back row with whiting wanting a new deal too! trust peter G to get it right though!-hard to type when ya phones off like mad with buzzing fc mates!

Absolute fantastic news, hopefully wont be the only big signing for next year and with this signing maybe other big names will jump ship too. Wld liketo see a quality past stand off and centre. Lets hope this is a stepping stone

great player, great signal of intent, wrong position. If briscoe goes, your backline is nowhere near your pack, and this needs sorting. hopefully for you guys, ap will be undertaking the same salary cap accounting as wire and you can have both, but if not, it wont upgrade you where you need it.

What a signing!
A current international, a player regarded as the best in his position in the world, and at his peak - possibly our biggest signing ever, certainly in the SL era.
Credit to Pearson, Gentle & McRae for pulling this off and showing the Faithful (and the rest of SL) that they mean business.
