Oh, wait a minute...

Hang on...

Yeah. Sorry, it's a no go. People could just send their mate to the bar instead.

So close.

Prior experience indicates otherwise.

We have no control over the stewarding but will cop the flak for the inevitable trouble. That's a lose-lose proposition. Add in the fact that we make no money from selling beer and it seems an even worse idea.

Well then, let's hope that inept stewarding is used by Pearson in the renegotiation.

Exactly , morons will be morons regardless of the rules at the KC on FC match days. I agree with what you imply entirely , the only people affected by banning drinking in the seats (as oposed to drunks in general) are those responsible people who fancy a beer actually sitting down in their seat rather than standing in the concourse. Spot on. icon_wink.gif

Bit underwhelmed that the club are bringing back drinking in the stands to be honest, it really does make a difference to the amount of folk wanting to get past as you're watching the game. So, seeing its done now, can I ask one favour? Can anyone who wants to go and get a drink etc wait for a break in play to do it?
I thank you icon_cool.gif

Im on the side of people who are sensible and like a drink watching but cant the club make it crystal clear that if any one abuses this they will be removed or have season ticket revoked?

The re-negotation may include profit on beer

Wasn't bothered either way as I don't drink at home games but for me it's the right decision. People drink before the games anyway and will only have probably a pint each half so the whole getting up and down isn't a big deal for me.

As for behaviour well fans go on the lash all day at away matches and through the game without too much incident.

It's a bit insulting to be the only ground where you can't drink.

If fans enter the ground drunk and cause bother then that's down to the stewarding and the club is unlikely to suffer. If those same fan enter the ground drunk while there is alcohol on sale then [ieven if they don't have a drink inside the ground[/i the club will be held responsible. Therein lie the huge difference and the reason the ban was brought in. Reversing it has opened us up to possible fines when we have [ino control whatsoever[/i over either who gets admitted to the ground, who gets served, or how the stewards deal with trouble.

This is a misguided PR stunt IMO and will most likely bite us in the backside.

The last thing we need after recent events is more off field headlines. We need to be whiter than white this year.

I take the point about drinking at other grounds but I can remember incidents at the KC in 2010 and how useless the stewarding was in controlling them.
