It's hardly about the animal being 'sacred' and 'needing love'. It's about not keeping animals in conditions that constitute cruelty. I would contest that locking animals in a shed, never to see the light of day, is indeed cruel and should not be allowed.

Do people eat meat everyday anyway? I'd say I dont eat meat at least 2 days a week and thats not because I want to reduce my meat intake but because I actually have a varied diet.
