| Quote Wirefan="Wirefan"I think you are looking through angered specs at this a little.
It was only in the second 40 that our pack woke up. Our front row was our best available and our interchange was very strong. We had no injurys and we simply tightened our game plan in the second half and used our more experienced bigger pack in order to dominate the second 40.

Not seen agreat deal of Morley but I thought that was the best I've seen him play in years.

| I am sure I have said it before, but to sack Agar will solve nothing. What we need is a Head Coach who can develop ALL aspects of our club.
Agar is out of his depth simply bcause he has not served a full aprentiship under decent coaches.
Under him, we have Last, who equally never made it as a player and will never make it as a top coach so long as he is learning off Agar. Under that we have Crooks x 2 and wh knows who else.
Jonny Sharp is possibly the one brought in as HC but I see that there is no change in tactics etc so is clearly not effective.
We need to do what Wire have done with Smith. No need for sackings, just a level sensible head who can develop the club. Get rid off dead wood and develop a system for all to work with. Its very similar to what Brian Smith did in 1990 with our club.
I watch the 21s regulaly and see no inspirational coaching, I see no real crop of stars. One or two exceptions but not enough knocking on the door of the first team. I don't see a coach who can change average players into stars, like Brian Smith did. He did it with a PT squad as well. Just tink what could be achieved with FT training.
As for injuries WTF is going on. This is our excuse year in year out. Are we the only ones to encounter them.? NO. But I would now start to seriously question our fitness set up. Also the doctors, physios etc as we never seem to get players fit. Leeds amost had 1 to 17 playing for them on Friday night. We rarely have this luxury. IT CAN'T ALL BE DOWN TO BAD LUCK.

Exactly what I would agree.
Agar needs a proven top of coach to learn from.
We need someone soon. Not necessarily to rescue this season, but predominantly to build for next season and onward.
We have some great players, but we are not getting them developed to their full potential. There are a few coming off contract this year and next. We need someone now who might have time to assess, what we have and what we need to replace, before contracts are extended etc:

You don't go into sports teams to make £££££££ - you go in as a passionate hobby hoping to be as successful as possible whilst keeping losses to an absolute minimum or at least what you can afford to lose.
Our board are investors before they are supporters - the majority wher involved at Gateshead and that is the cross we bear from the merger.
Agar/Crooks/Sharp/Harman/Last - they can all go for me and then the board can sell 49% of the Club to supporters via a share issue and hope 51% are bought by an East Yorkshire wealthy supporter with ££££ to lose.

But Hull is primarily a business and it is managed very successfully. Unlike other clubs that are run with passion by fans who focus on getting the most success possible on-the-field. Our club's priorities clearly lie off-the-field.

I am glad it happens to be run successfully as I lost a LOT of shares when big Shane shut us down .
However I don't follow a club that is primarily a business and when I bought my shares in 1995 I didn't buy them as an investment I bought them as a show of respect to Royce Simmons and knew that I would never see any divi etc.
However my point is Shane Richie and the others dragged in NEVER joined Gateshead then Hull FC for the love or passion - £££££££££££££ and it still is today.
Adam Pearson cries when whichever team he is involved with , loses. WHY ? Kath and 1-2 other directors 'love' HullFC because their £££ is tied up and that is the only reason. If Kath sold up would she be a season pass holder at HULL ?? Come on Whitestar - are you playing devil's on this thread

I'm saying that our board don't care if we play boring rugby and win nothing as long as the £££££ keep rolling in !! which they always do !!
It pi$$e$ me right off but while we have this board, we will always have to accept that on-the-field success is way down on their list of priorities.

I agree with this!
Like it or not, unfortunately we are still paying the price for our survival.
No one with a 'passion' for the club, came in and bailed us out. It was a board that saw the potential to make some ££'s. Had they not, then we would have gone.

This is actually a fantastic post as not only did Webbo get injured and we sign Dobbo the next week but to do it we let go of Webbo.
So our board in doing what they felt was best for the club let go of the fans favourite and club talisman without the blinking of an eye as it was the best for the club.
