Who has given this pair of tools free reign to get to this stage? Are our councillors being paid off, you think?

Another one who prefers to air his dirty laundry in public via the media instead of getting on and trying to resolve the issue.

Quote: looking in "Does the Dentist still think the smc deal was a smart bit of business by the council.?'"

If you are a resident of Hull, then a deal which means that no cost of maintenance and repair of such a facility at a time of austerity within local authorities has to be a good deal, because no costs fall on the residents of the City, at a time when parks, libraries and swimming baths are being shut. The Council can't be credited with much but they did at least have the foresight to see what was coming back at the turn of the Century.

However the original deal between the Council and the then SMC was only for the running and maintenance of the Stadium and the Arena, this is without doubt a change of use for the Arena. It stops being a community facility and becomes part of Hull City's 'empire' I also believe before the stadium was built that permission was only given by Central Government for the use of publicly based capital receipts because the Stadium was to be a shared facility by at least two of the Cities professional Clubs and because there was a strong community element to that facility. In fact I think it was insisted that it was to be called the Community Stadium.

If the Council take no action then what has changed since then, between the Council and the SMC, is the bit up for debate. I'm led to believe that the council knew nothing about all this before yesterday!

Quote: Mrs Barista "To secure FA academy-related funding?'"

Pretty much nail on the head there Mrs B I suspect.
The academies are graded 1-4 and I believe City are currently grade 3.
To move up the grades certain criteria must be met and the pitch in question is central to the next level.
The higher you go the more funding is available from the FA.
I have had a quick google and I can not find the amounts but given the stupid £££££ floating about in football I can't see it being a few quid.

I would hope that if City are training on it they pay the going daily rate for the hire of the venue if their pitch means that nobody else can hire the venue out.

I mean, that would only be fair wouldn't it?

Not606 seem a bit divided, so this isn't necessarily typical...

Quote: "I also see this petition against the eviction is being hijacked by Hull FC numbskulls. On their own pathetic website, the one were they spend more time slagging off City rather than concentrating on their own joke sport, they are signing the petition in their droves despite having no interest in the sports affected. The well intentioned petition is being used by the usual suspects as another tool to stick the boot into the Allams and Hull City.'"

I find it hard to believe that the council knew nothing of this, it's widely known that to meet Category 2 Status Hull City need a covered 3G Surface at certain perimeters, the Allams have recently had numerous people in the arena measuring up etc. I believe the audit takes place around the 20-23rd April.

The Council have left themselves wide open here and seem to not have a leg to stand on, it was a massive oversight on their part when the lease was drawn up and agreed. I think the very least they can do is put the public in the picture, the full picture because there's many people who simply don't understand how something like this can be allowed to happen.

much as I cant stand allam, hes only part of the problem, because theirs so much money in football, theirs to much of an attitude that football is the only game that matters and every other sport should bow down to it.

Its quite sad really - i suspect most FC fans aren't too fussed about Hull City - its just the behaviour of the mad arab ...
The "numpties" on here seem to realise that , so lets spell it out for the Not606 numpties spying on here ....
"City, should we be concerned?" should be titled "Allam - should we concerned?"

There you go - now shuffle off back your own forums ...

This can't be right. The Allams are only here for the good of the community. After all the great Doctor is a true philanthropist.
