| Quote: wildycat "And fans that break the rules should be find,'"
They should be punished.
Quote: wildycat "you keep banging on about Cockayne, who started the abuse first Hull fans,'"
It depends where you class as the "start". The abuse didn't start yesterday.
Quote: wildycat "they even had no respect for the match Ref, the abuse was appauling, '"
Most of it was just banter. But Ganson was never going to get much respect from the Hull fans after his appalling performance at the last game he reffed us.
Quote: wildycat "and Ben as every right to celebrate at the end of every match we win,'"
If he does it in a respectful way, yes. This is not what he was doing.
Quote: wildycat " infact he does and good on him and if we win are next game we will most likely do the same.. '"
He celebrates in front of the away fans like he's won a cup final after every win? I don't think so.
Quote: wildycat "there is many rugby league players that have done things wrong, are you going to abuse them...??'"
Ben Cockayne is not the only one and will not be the last one to get verbals from the crowd for doing something wrong. See Gareth Hock, Ryan Bailey, Chev Walker, Leon Pryce and Stuart Reardon.
However, his is the most disgusting I've witnessed, and it's not an isolated incident. Have you seen the video?
Quote: wildycat "Just move on and support your team, your paying to watch a game not get involved in other people personal lives, and this for all clubs get rid of the idiots we don't need them, before they get your club a fine...'"
I do support my club, and in all honesty the Cockayne celebrating issue doesn't bother me personally. It's the reaction he was wanting and was always going to get from the idiots in the crowd that bothers me.
The difference between me and you is I'm not condoning what certain Hull fans did, but you're condoning what Cockayne did. They're both wrong. Both showed no respect and that goes against the Respect Policy.

You can't have it both ways, either you agree with the whole respect thing or you don't. You can't say it's acceptable for Hull fans to insult Ganson, Cockayne, Mathers or whoever they damn well please, then start preaching about Cockayne celebrating in front of a MIXED stand.
Personally I don't mind it, it was an emotional win, he was getting abused throughout the game - and like I say he was not sticking 2's up or whatever.
Continually abuse a player over a long period of time? Don't be surprised when he reacts.

| Speaking of idiots in the crowd.
I would just like to thank the moron who threw a can in the air towards our group of supporters and whilst showering us in beer also nearly hit the children stood in front of us and after confronting this moron and his inbread offspring stood there puffing out his chest like a peacock denying he or any other of the sheepish people around him had done anything.
Like said all clubs have them, pot kettle springs to mind.

Nice to see moral guardians in Hull. Nothing to do with the fact he played for Rovers then?

Peter Fox played for Rovers. Did he get the same abuse?
I think that answers your question.

Where have I said it's acceptable?
Somewhere in me saying "two wrongs don't make a right" you have seen "it's OK if it's coming from your side". It's not.

Fair enough, but you certainly seem to be focusing more on Cockaynes behaviour than that of your own fans.

| What Ben did was wrong and in the end he got shown the door from the club he loved and would still be playing for if he had half a brain.
The flip side is every time he plays against FC he get a massive amount of grief, some of it is beyond the law of the land but he has probably brought a lot of this on himself.
The one thing I would say is this obviously gives him motivation because he usually ends up having a good day and being in a position to 'celebrate' in front of the away fans. Maybe if you ignored him he wouldn't be the thorn in your side he usually is.

You're probably right about the latter, but it's hard to influence the masses!
On the flip side, if he cut the cr*p out of his game, he could be a really decent player (which is what he should be trying to do since it's his job!).

That's only because there have been more responses condoning Cockayne's actions than that of the Hull fans.

Yes, thats right, if he'd have played for Hull, or Bradford or anyone aside from rovers he'd have been treated as a top bloke for repeadtedly kicking someone in the head then putting it down to having a "flashback" from his army days. Guess people should consider themselves lucky such a "flashback" didn't occour in the middle of a game.

Do Bailey and Walker get the same reception ?

Errr yeah, because Cockayne was celebrating a win and the Hull fans were throwing missiles and trying to get on the pitch?
Anyway, we can go round in circles all day, I think everyone agrees that neither party has covered themselves in glory.

| As gutted as i was at us letting wakefield back in it,i just couldnt help myself laughing inside when cockayne was winding us all up.simply because i was so pi##ed off and fed up at the few pri##s stood near me and how wound up and ridiculously furious they were getting when the wakey fans had the audacity to start singing back at us.These are grown men who pay there money to scream as aggressively as possible in the direction of anyone in opposition colours just to goad a response from them, but cant take any banter back.
Im as passionate about sport as the next man,but acting like an aggressive chav when your about 40 years old and full beer aint my idea of passion.fair play to cockayne i say....cant stand the cocky git though lol
