I heard very good things about him when he was at souths.'"
at this moment, we need an experienced head coach,
who can drastically change attitudes, and implement a playing structure.
The last thing we need,is another unproven coach,
who maybe is technically brilliant, but the unknown factor is man-management.
Cant see any current NRL experienced coaches, ooc soon,
so Anderson,Murray or Folkes for me.

I'm interested to know why you don't think he would do a decent job?
I reckon he is in the top bracket of coaches available at this time.'"
His man management skills are poor, he's a good fitness coach.

Correct me if I'm wrong you'll know better than me, but didn't he get the boot from the bulldogs due to alleged player power. Squad hated him or something?.

He's got a couple of jobs here.
I can't see why he'd come tbh.

| He brought in a good mix of youth and experience into that Dogs side of the earlier 00's. The forward pack he built was one of the best, if not the best that decade. Maitua, Sonny Bill and Mason ripped it up week after week, and where backed up by the likes of Steve Price and Asotasi, both of whom played their best footy under Folkes. You can add O'Meley to that list too.
He did lose it towards the end of his reign, but I partly put that down to the amount of key personel he lost over a couple of seasons.

when he was at Bradford i remember Peacock and Vainakolo saying his strength was one on one skills. He would take individual players aside and talk them through things others didn't see!!

| The fact he hasn't has a coaches job since he left Canterbury speaks volumes.
Like I say he won't come over anyway.

| The thing I don't understand about people suggesting the main reason the board wouldn't get rid of Agar is a "loss of face" due to giving him a contract extension. This extension was offered almost a year ago. Since then we've won neither a cup tie nor a play-off game.
We have won 3 of our last 10 games, 1 of which was the controversial last minute penalty v Crusaders, another we won by 4 points courtesy of Tom Briscoe's last minute tackle on Fox. Not good enough, simple as.
If anything, the board will lose face if they are happy to allow the club's marketeers to claim we are silverware candidates in the face of utterly compelling evidence to the contrary. They've given Agar 3 years, and a year since the last contract review. Enough.

| Bottom line is he is miles better than anything available at the present time. Being out of a head coaching role for little under 2 years (not counting his spell in Cricket) hardly speaks volumes, considering how job oppertunities in the NRL are so few and far between.
He's got an excellent work ethic (just ask the Wests Tigers team and Tim Sheens) He's known for his no-nonesence approach, and he's got bags of experience at the top level of the game.
