Forgive my ignorance if i'm wrong but wouldn't Smith and Gene counted as two oversea coaches?

Quote: Jake the Peg "partly, but it's also about everyone else in the team knowing what they're doing and putting it into practice. On all of the sets near our line, cas had 2 lead runners with a line of players behind. It causes confusion and opens up space. We have forwards trying to barge over.

Fitness, s&c and commitment/attitude are "relatively" easy fixes for the coaching team but attacking structure needs someone who really understands it. last isn't that person unless he's learned a massive amount since he left.

I once went to an open training session when radford was the coach and the attacking training was pitiful'"

Thibk you mentioned in another post, no coincidence that our attack improved hugely when we have Reynolds and Trueman, neither were brilliant, but just that experience really helps set things up

Quote: Dave K. "We don't have any quota spots left, if we did we should get targeting a centre.

I'd rather have him than Cust, but one advantage Cust has is the ability to play halfback'"

It's almost as if we've signed Cust as a back up half back because we are concerned Abdull is always injured and Sezer will miss games because of his age but Cust isn't injury prone. Don't get Cust simply don't get it.

I've always said he is the one signing I can't get my head around, should have kept Reynokds or gone for Leyland, even Hampshire.

you also need players with guile, flair and expereience in your team.our back division is devoid of them.you can see why we have only averaged 12 points a game.

Better but still not good. The players on the pitch mostly put into practice what happens on the training filed. Some clubs look like they know what they're doing and some don't. Personnel play a part but also training it into them.

I really hope cartwright isn't another coach who encourages players to "play what they see"

Can't cover half back or full back.

Ideally, a Quota Player should be in 17 man squad, as a 1st pick, NOT someone who if everyone else is fit, won`t get a game.

Quote: Dave K. "The main thing is to improve the robustness of the squad and get value for money, so signing Hardraker and Chamberlain to replace Sutcliffe and Scott makes sense.

Although Seizer has missed a few ganes, the last 3 seasons he has played 55 games, whilst Trueman has played 44.

Rapana has played over 20 games just about every season. Same with Asista apart from this year.

When was the last time we signed a captain and recent dream team player along with 2 players from the NRL who are first choice players.

Hopefully a new backroom team wi help this also and keep the likes of Abdul fitter, which he has shown he can do at London amd his first few seasons at Rovers, we're he was in MOS contention and playing internationally.
if this is our starting lineup first game, I can't see how anyone can say it is well ahead of this seasons side and that's without any coaching impact.

Walker
Barron
Hardraker
Rapana
Martin
Abdul
Seizer
Ese Ese
Cust
Aydin
Cartwright
Holmes
Asiata

Sao
Ashworth
Staveley
Balmforth

I'"

But why are we signing Rapana?
No doubt a quality player in his time but he is a wing now playing full back and you see him here as a centre.
According to the HDM is was not our first choice as once again we were turned down by the player/players we wanted.Sailor was mentioned
I know we are weak at centre so why dont we go all out to sign a centre.
There is just no strategy
We are ok in the wing positions, and even if Walker leaves we have full back cover in Moy,Litten and Hardaker.
Notice there is no place in your proposed team for our star 3 year man Chamberlain

Quote: Jake the Peg "Jobs for the boys. Also giving houghton some role.

Our attack is woeful. Last clearly never had the capability to improve it and I doubt cartwright is an attacking coach. You only had to look at how cas set up in our 20 on saturday to see the difference. They looked organised, everyone knew what they were doing. The complete opposite to us'"

Easy to kick the boys when they are down to the bare bones, Cas have quite good quality at 1, 6, 7, 9, and 13, we don’t, but we did manage to get back in the game, and a couple of missed opportunities you never know.

Chamberlain is a decent squad player, will provide good cover in a number of positions, replaces Scott, not sure why him signing is a big deal.

Maybe there aren't any decent centres available, so we sign a good player in another position rather than a poor centre.

I'd try him at centre, but suspect he will play fullback.
