| If Cust is out, I'd be tempted to play Asiata at 6 and go with a prop at LF. Try and bully Cas.

Ad news on cartwright. Good player but can't stay fit
This is my concern with him too, he just can't seem to string a run of games together. It doesn't help us this year, but hopefully we can manage him better next year with Batchelor, Bailey and Bell all coming in Hamstrings are just a feature of fast sports -soccer rugby athletics. If it’s the same hammy then longer out and longer rehab. They do do surgery but I think his is low grade, not sure. Not the time to write him off. He is our best second rower at the moment. As someone said love to get Bailey early but not sure if that’s possible- I assume but don’t know his current contract or if he has a job away from rugby to sort out too We had a disussion a few days ago about players wearing coverings or some kind of thermal pants to cover their hamstrings. Notice Tom johnstone the Wakefield wing was wearing them last week. I think all players who are susceptible to Hamstring injuries especially in the winter months should wear them

| Hopefully Hardaker is just out as a precaution.
Gutted about Jed if true. A classy second rower but terrible luck with injuries.

| Despite his obvious quality, Cartwright's chances of a contract extention will be hampered by a long term injury. The club just can't afford to carry a quota player. Hope it's not that bad and he gets a decent injury free run.

| Personally I'd not risk any player who is on the cusp of being banned., for the KR game.As for the back row, maybe Ashworth could be an option. The last news I heard on Holmes was , they were awaiting the surgeon's report...

| A bit of a scratch side. Hoping for a win but we could easily lose this one given the players missing

I’m going to try to dig out the research before the year is out may also look for the headgear thing as well. Sometimes things are counterintuitive hence we have to trust medical/strength & fitness staff. Perhaps we should all be less critical of such things without full knowledge. Not saying ur criticising as I get ur

This is because you will always get a level of injuries in rl inspire of the best conditioning. Multi factorial I think- age, fatigue, fitness, hormonal - men too, prev injury, rehab. Etc etc. All clubs have injuries. strength in depth is what coaches aspire to but there’s salary cap issues. See HDM article re Rovers lack of academy prospects. It suggests their success may be short term. Hardakers situation if a muscle strain maybe similar to Jed Cartwrights. But we don’t know the nature of problem
