Quote: Marcus's Bicycle "True, despite the tenancy impositions as supporters we couldn't ask for a better location. Close to the ancestral home and walking distance from the city centre.

I'm sure the club conducted a survey a few years ago and found that the majority of the fans live in East Hull. I stand to be corrected if wrong. I would guess the majority of that support would come from, Bransholme, Sutton Park and Kingswood. A trek all the way to Costello on a Friday night is not that inviting. Definately not for me as I always cycle to KCOM from Sutton Park. In any kind of weather
Correct that majority of our season ticket holders are on Bransholme, due to people moving there from Hessle Road after the war. Id imagine our sales in and around Hessle Road itself are down on decades ago due to changes in the demographic there.

So ideally you'd need a ground close to both Bransholme and West Hull, or at least on a bus route from one of them. The KCOM is pretty much perfectly located. Its very much a case of be careful what you wish for with stadium moves, Salford have lost support with their new ground being out of town despite doing better on the field. People are creatures of habit and any inconvenience such as longer commute, lack of parking, no pubs to go in can stop them going.

I think the general consensus of fans would be to stay at the KCOM as it’s ideally positioned and relatively easy to get to. However what do we do as a club if the SMC is still run by the Allams and they put an unrealistic figure on the next lease?
It’s something that has to be seriously considered and if it meant the club financially were better off moving to a new stadium or struggling to balance books to due to cost at KCOM it’s a no brainer. I doubt AP would want to move the club too far away from where it is already in terms of ease fans can get there. I suppose having our own home/ground would give the club longer term stability and control of its future.
On this subject nothing can be taken as a certainty and it’s not something that can or should be ruled out straight away.

I completely agree with that and to think that Adam is so naive to believe that the Allams would fall for such a ploy as him threatening them with us moving out just to get the lease more favourable, doesn't do the guy any justice at all. He is conscious that its has responsibility to ensure the club survives long after he is gone, and although we may never see our own stadium (and theres a lot standing in the way of that happening) he's looked at it before and is again now considering it as one possibility.

Isn’t county road an obvious option?

A bit off topic but good to see AP's involvement in the sport's administration.

Not sure it's quite big enough, and Roads would be a problem. There is however space for a rail halt but despite many pushes to get one in West Hull over the years (at the KCOM and at Brickell Ave) that idea never gets off the ground.

Nice idea but probably a none starter as I believe the Allams own the training ground although we have a long lease from them and I can't see then being too ready to assist us building a new stadium on there in an effort to get away from them and the KC.

This is the proposed stadium for Workington to be shared between their Rugby & Football clubs. Costing between 15-20million. Not sure on the capacity, but something like this should/could be possible surely?

Not big enough and we already have a stadium.
Like i said several days ago Adam would be far better if it was possible borrowing money or finding a small consortium to buy Hull City and take control of both clubs.
The Council would be far more willing to work with Adam with regard to ownership of the stadium and the sale of the surrounding land for future development once Allam is out of the way.
I am certain fans of both clubs would get behind this.
I wonder just how many fans would buy into a three year pass membership with added benfits at £1000 for Hull FC and £1200/ £1500 for Hull City.
It could certainly raise a substantial sum to help a buyout.

How does that reduce our income?
The people that buy into it would have already paid so the club/s have the money. The key to it would be the added benefits the clubs can offer.
It doesnt effect the income from supporters who dont have the funds and would pay in the normal way of a season pass or walk in.

You're spending the money on buying a stadium, rather than running a SL club (eg paying players wages), hardly rocket science.

TBF that’s not reducing your income, the money will still be coming into the club i(ncome) it’s just the club will have a stadium to pay for so may possible mean less going towards to clubs playing staff.

However that’s all debatable as it may well be that paying for a new stadium over a period of time with the advantages of having control of all income to the stadium offsets this. In fact it is plausible to say that for the club the costs for playing at the KCOM vs the cost of its own stadium with the benefits of all revenue streams being under the club’s control are very similar.

No brainer, buying over renting long term is a winner
