The agenda bit wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at the person who intimated I have one because I said lauaki wasn't very good and isn't worth a quota spot IMO. I'm still trying to work out what my agenda may be

| Sam Moa was busting tackles for fun today and even when he didn't he found the cheeky off-load. He ran through the Oldham defence at will and I expected the same from Lauaki. Alas, it never happened. He played OK but he should have killed it today. Even Washbrook was bouncing through the tackle to greater effect then him. Overall, pretty disappointed.

If ever there was a game for lauaki to show us what he can do it was today and he failed miserably.
I reckon we've had about 30 minutes of top notch play from him since he arrived 2 years ago

I think I preferred him when he was a liability and he frequently lost his head!
I'd probably be less critical if he was non quota but I can only assume he's in big money, probably double what Sam Moa is on, so I judge him accordingly.

I don't think so. Sharp signed for Hull in August 2008 and Lauaki signed Feb 2009
"Hull's football operations manager Jon Sharp had first tried to sign Lauaki while at Huddersfield, so he was delighted to finally have completed the deal.
Sharp said: "I was desperate to sign him and I chased him for two years. He will be a tremendous asset and he will kill it here."
So we shouldn't really judge Agar until he's got his team in place.

| only FC fans could find something to whine about after beating the opposition by a cricket score
also with regards Hame, he had a very good game and his VT stats prove it, the team and coaches value him highly ...
just enjoy the moment ... there is nothing to whine about absolutely nothing

The agenda part wasn't particularly aimed at you but I'm sick of the numpties around me complaining everytime he gets the ball and saying the same things no matter how he actually plays.
I thought he had a decent game today, was a handfull, had a few offloads, bounced off some tackles and even put out a great pass to put the winger away. I'd be interested to see if the stats back up your thoughts on Dowes and I'd also add that he did far more minutes today than he normally does which did effect how he played.
The way he is used means he isn't worth a quota spot though I agree.

| Today proved to me that despite their very best efforts Lauaki and Washbrook are simply not up to SL level. Washbrook was doing everything he could to impress but our play just slowed or stopped when it went through him. Hame , well he should have been busting Oldham at will but rarely made any real forward progress. His decision making was poor though ironically he did put in a couple of nice passes.

genuinely dont understand where the irony is?do you mean hes but he looked good today?in which case is this not the time to give him a break?...or do you mean he makes decisions and throws a pass normally but threw a 'couple of good ones today'?which i doubt as he seems to have a generally above average pass relative to other forwards in super league.still dont get where the irony is though..good post though ; )

Simple really. I'm criticising him in this post because I think that he isn't good enough. The Oldham game to me was overall proof of that but I had to admit that he did show a glimpse of threequarter like skill with a couple of passes. It may be that he can do it the problem is he doesn't. On one occasion yesterday he received the ball about 10m from their line one on one with their centre/second row. He chose to pass to Lynn(?) when he should have just blasted over. From the ptb now on the last tackle he chose to run into a bunch of defenders , handover. He's a luxury we can't afford.

Think your being a little unfair to both players there. Lauaki was skittling defenders left right and centre, not always ending in something positive but still busting tackles. He just needs to learn to either get to the ground for a quick play the ball or keep his forward progress going. Thought Washbrook did try hard to impress like u say, and did well at 13. Found a fair few offloads and got his hands on the ball. Still has alot too work on to be a hooker though, passing from the floor seemed alot slower than Houghtons and he took wrong options.
