We will see Puggy, we will see. Your team will be won 5 lost 3 at best, mind you it depends on the best 10 minute player in the world Willie Mason if he ever bothers coming over. You can beat 3.0 if you want mate because they are you 3 cup finals and we will concentrate on winning the proper trophies.

A lot will depend on the first game IMO. If we were to lose at MM which is quite possible, I would fear the worst as we'll have little chance the week after against Leeds because of the "derby hangover". A very tough game against Hudds next and then a battering at Wigan and we could be looking at a poor start as far as results go, maybe won 1 lost 4. There would then be a lot of pressure on us to win the next three "easier" games.

So the first game for me (derby stuff aside) is a must-win game on all levels. If we can win it, things could look a hell of a lot better.

Hudds (A), lose
Crusaders (H), win
Wigan (A), lose
Wakefield (H), win
Harlequins (A) win
Castleford (H) win

All thing being equal we should beat Rovers, they are asking alot if they want Green to step in and be the finished article and even if Mason ever turns up he will have only had a couple of weeks training at best. We also tend to start seasons well and should be out for revenge after the playoffs. Leeds at home is then a 50/50 as is Hudds the week after so we need to be winning one of the two, Wigan is in all likelyhood a write off, so anything we got there would be a massive bonus. And then the next 4 should all be wins if we have aspirations of the top 4. I would settle for 10 points but if we can make 12 I would be very pleased. 8 or less can only be seen as a poor start.

Yea I can see where your coming from, but, how can ever expect to challenge this season if we cant consistently beat the teams around us.

How can we expect to challenge with:

1) Tansey 2012 - discipline issues last season, likes a beer apparently
3) Whiting 2012 - centre? (2nd row/utility for me)
6) Horne 2011 - injuries?
7) Long 2011 - injuries, 2 good games last season, went awol fairly frequently
9) Houghton 2012 - big pressure on Houghton, hope he's up to it (think he is)
11) Westerman 2015 - depends where he is played, and which Westerman turns up
14) Washbrook 2011 - solidly average
17) Dowes 2011 - averagely below average

the wheels could come well and truly off this season, but if we get a bit of luck we could also go well.

So, in reality, nobody knows what to expect. As I commented before, we need to make the KC a fortress and then take our chances on the road.

If you look at last season I'm sure all the 'bigger' clubs lost to lesser opponents at one time or another..
Also these clubs everyone says are better than us will drop points against each other, its inevitable really..
With a bit of luck with injuries we might just surprise some people.. again just my opinion...

I really hope we do suprise a few people. My point was just that I think some people sould expect a bit more and not be happy from winning 4 from 8.

seems most people are pinning our hopes on 'a bit of luck' for next season. we are going to need it with RH and SL as our first choice half backs and only DW as cover at hooker.
as Standee has intimated, our squad is distinctly average across the board so expect another average season.

Its crazy that we are 4 weeks from the first game and have no cover for DH (Washy has never played there, and its vital position), also no cover in the halves who can lead a round the park. Im all for Nicko getting a run of games, but we cant pin our hopes on him leading us round the park.

Every team needs a bit of luck which imo we havent had much over last few seasons..
Wouldn't say I'm pinning my hopes on this alone, and I don't believe we have an average squad..
If we can get a decent run with players in the right positions I believe we could easily give the top 4 a run for their money..
