Whether or not you would have started a thread about it is immaterial. People are having a go at the OP for laying into the kid because he has learning difficulties. But if he didn't know that, it's hardly his fault.
The point I'm making is, if the guy didn't have learning difficulties and he was just booked to be the half time entertainment, he would have fallen below the standard we could reasonably expect.

I admired the kid for having the ball$ to do something like that today anyway. Even more so now I know about his learning difficulties.

Do his learning difficulties affect his singing ability? That's a genuine question.
If the answer is 'no', why should the guy be afforded any more margin for error than someone without learning difficulties? Isn't that just a little bit patronising and condescending? Essentially it's saying that you have lower expectations of that person, which is not a good attitude to have.

I'll agree with that.
Fair play to the kid for having the guts to sing in front of a crowd that big, but at the end of the day that isn't the point, is it? The point is the half-time entertainment was not found entertaining by a large majority of the crowd. Whether he had learning difficulties or not is immaterial. The majority of the crowd will not have known this fact (I didn't), and so would have judged him undiscriminatorily. To mention that he did have learning difficulties as an excuse for low standards would have been extremely patronising also. It's like booking Steven Hawking to sing and it being OK because he has motor neuron disease.
So yeah, fair play for performing and having the guts to do so, but we should really be booking professionals for these sorts of events. In fact, our whole pre-match/HT entertainment package is woeful. We should be employing someone to sort this mess out. It's boring. And that inflatable thing is absolute garbage. |

| It take balls to sing infront of a large audience and the lad has learning difficulties to boot... commendable.... I take my hat of to him.... and then put it over his mouth to block the sound 
He did well but it was embarrasing... perhaps if your management are so inclined they can use one of his karaoke tracks to welcome FC onto the pitch |
