Roman Dawson would probably have made his debut if he wasn't injured, hopefully he'll come into contention next year at some point.

| Quote: mwindass "Are the players incoming better than those who are leaving?
Rapana - Walker presumably?
Hardaker - Sutcliffe
Chamberlain - Scott
Cartwright - Okunbor
Aydin - Jack Brown
Briscoe - Mcintosh
Cust - Morgan Smith
Abdull - Nu Brown
Sezer - Hoy
Bourouh - Houghton
Asiata - Pele?
Holmes - ?
Plus the emergence of Martin, Moy, Balmforth. Hopefully Barron can continue to impress and Staveley comes back strong.
Looking at it as a whole, I'd say we've improved the squad overall. Does it still have gaps? 100% I don't think anyone would deny that.
The club has been on a slow and steady decline for the last 5 plus seasons, it might take a steady increase to get back to where we want to be.'"
Totally agree with this post.. the key component to all of this is John Cartright and how he gets us gelled as a team, like what Peters has done at rovers.

And Rowley, I'm not convinced if we had signed, Brierley, Cross, Hakinson, Ackers, Watkins etc, they would have made the same impact at Hull.

It's not expected to change until next year as far as I'm aware.
Don't know how true it is but I've heard Carlos is going to York next season

Sao is a liability ill-disciplined, picks up a lot of knocks and is a poor one on one defeder, release him, bring is Eseh (even on loan) and get a quota

I agree and i think its a desperation and poor signing
Players in Australia are surrounded by quality and its little wonder someone like Sezer willl look better.
His form at Leeds should have told anyone with a brain that he is not up to it in S/L when required to step up.
You only have to look at Ligi Sao playing for Samoa
Looked good when surrounded by quality players but put him into a team that needs him to step up and thats what you get

Disagree. That team today with Abdul and sezer in would of been massively better

That set on the Cas line against 11 men summed us up. 3 or 4 drives then a duff kick. Even with Cust we wouldn't have been that bad.

But yes, if we keep Walker and play Rapana there, think we are OK, if we lose Walker, we need another centre from somewhere.'"
Rapana hasn't really played centre much in his career has he? If the club go down that route, they haven't learnt from the Nu Brown debacle this season.

He's never a centre. According to RL project which is pretty accurate he has only played there 8 times in a 219 club career. In fact he's only played 31 games at fullback.
We desperately need another centre.

Which makes it look like a desperation signing, he's a good player, but I'm not sure he's the right one to use our final marquee (and quota spot) on when we already have a capable fullback in Walker, two promising youngsters in Barron and Martin on the wing and briscoe as another reliable option there. Playing rapana in the centres will likely lead to fans turning on him quickly next season when he struggles there defensively

Totally agree. He is absolutely revered by Canberra fans for his attitude and determination and they are disappointed that he is leaving.
He would be a great acquisition for any SL club but he's as a winger who has played a few games this season at fullback.
The last quota place should have been used for a centre.
