Apparently the quota exemption is much more likely to pass. Don’t think it means much for us. Don’t think we’ll go for Stone, Nikorima could be interesting but doesn’t pass the worked with Cartwright test like the other overseas recruits and is hardly proven. Lafai and Marsters maybe think we’ll stick with Cross as our centre target.

Cross and Nikorima would be good pick ups.

But is Nikorima worth more than a one year deal, as he would take up our last quota spot for 2026?

Nikorima was linked to us last year. He's probably worth a one year deal and then he can prove his worth.

Issue is clubs are in a predicament as to when the quota exemption will apply and for how long.

Fact is we can't go into the season with Sezer and Cust. Then Charles and Kemp as back up. It scuppered us last year!

If they're considering quota exemptions it doesn't make much sense for it just to be for the one year. I would say two to three years which at least gives clubs a bit of time to plan around it.

If the quota dispensation passes I'd look at Shane Wright too, be a handy pick up for us.

Things change but you’d think if Myler and Cartwright wanted Nikorima they’d have moved last season when he was unattached, and like you say he’s going to want a multi year deal. I’ve actually liked the little what I’ve seen of him but he’s had baggage in the past and got a lot less NRL game time then Cust over a much longer period in the lower grades. Not sure he’s worth a quota spot beyond a short term deal.

Maybe I’m reading way too much into it but the only thing that makes me think we might have something up our sleeves with a halfback is the wording in Bowers article that we’ve backed away from the Sneyd deal. More then likely just wanting to save face knowing Sneyd not interested, but you never know can’t see anyone else potentially available other then Nikorima and that’s only if the quota exemption is voted through.

Not sure if we have backed away, as Sneyd has stated his preference to not move.

Agree with Nikorima, he would offer a running threat to go with Seizer and I was told we were close to signing him on loan last year, until Salford offered him a longer deal.

Nikorima is the sort of half we need for sezer, for me we got to go for Nikorima, cross and bullock

Guessing to be totally honest would cause more damage.
