Quote: bonaire "Whether he is a success or not his signing is just filling the gap for next season.
I expect to see two new half backs for 2023.
Had Sneyd not departed i doubt he would have been kept on for 2023'"

We should sign Hampshire as cover for Gale and Reynolds a046.gif

I'm just glad we're actively trying alternatives to players who are on the decline or not performing consistently any more.

Well done to Pearson and Hodgson identifying weaknesses and being pro active, all signings come with an element of risk, not all work out, but at least we arnt throwing 3 or 4 year deals at players who clearly need moving on and replacing.

I'd gladly take Gales all round game over Sneyds inconsistent kicking game, for 1 season if it means we have more time to prepare a new half back pairing for the season after. It's given us over 12 months to identify and negotiate with possible targets.

Yes Sneyd has been great in the past, but was it only me who thought his kicking was terrible for most parts last season? No running game and passing left alot to be desired, so when your only real weapon starts failing, the writings on the wall. The games evolved we need more well rounded players in the spine. Keep Gale fit and we have an upgrade on Sneyd imo

Wouldn't actually mind Mason Lino, season after this

While I've yet to see alot of Lovodua, the other 3 are upgrades for me and I expect Lovodua to be an upgrade too.

No you are correct, Sneyd's kicking game was at best average last season.

To be honest there is a question mark on Gales fitness but we signed Jones who as no such issues and was a player in top form. Yet he must go down as one of the worst signings in the SL era in terms of performance etc.

Whilst there is a gamble in bringing Gale in because of his injury history over the past few years it changes our dynamic as a team and should see us be much less predictable and more adaptable in games.

Yeah this is total BS, but then you know that don't you.

Like the fact Gale has a bit of attitude about him. Need that in a half back sometimes.
Sneyd is one of the 2016 immortals, but he was also a pretty laid back character.

Welcome aboard Luke. If he stays fit could go well. Interesting times

Gale has confirmed that there is a clause in his contract which means he has to make a certain number of appearances to get the second year.

Watched the video interview with him on the clubs site. He's certainly confident in his own ability.

Comes across as the complete opposite, personality wise, to Sneyd.

Connor played a massive part in him joining too. He's made Hardaker and Myler look very good recently, hopefully we can get even more out if Jake too

Just watched the video and was impressed by his attitude. The type of character that we needed.

He realises that this is his last big deal of his career and needs to produce to earn a second year extension.

His hair is looking in good form as well.

Thought his half back partner Reynolds might have got a mention in the interview somewhere or did I just miss it?

Talks a great game and very determined - liked his comments about Connor too. icon_lol.gif
His hair is lush, worthy of the captaincy for sure.

Cas fans used to sing that they'd paid for his hair. A transfer to Leeds meant a bigger wedge (no pun) which was reflected in an improvement in length and quantity.

Lets hope by the the time he finishes at Hull he will look like Cousin Itt.

Quote: ComeOnYouUll "Probably although Connor has a conversion rate of about 85% since he joined Hull. He kicked 8/8 against Salford a few years back and 8/9 in the Cup QF against Cas in 2017. This season just gone he kicked 10/11 in total.'"

Given the surroundings around Gale and trying to keep his legs healthy, may be wise to let Connor who os a reasonable kicker the job.
