I would have thought you could have a virtual matchday where you could "buy" items you would normally be spending money on, e.g £25 away game ticket, £8 coach travel, £4 pie etc. Might be an option for those that can spare the cash?'"
Sounds a good idea .

I think if people reflected on what they would normally be spending each week following the club it could be worthwhile. All adds up, £5 Walton Street car park, £2.50 for a coffee in the stadium, snacks, beer fuel, Half time draw tickets, Away game tickets & travel..obviously merchandise is still available but might be worth thinking about if low cost to administer.

Would you (or indeed ‘we’) want to hedge bets in this situation? If there is a specific plan and target amount that’d solve the problem it’d be straightforward. But if it just ends up delaying things, that is money that could have gone towards a new start and which hasn’t achieved much from a fan’s perspective. For some Hull fans, knowing that chunk of their donation might have gone to the Allams as rent might make it an even more bitter pill.
Could it (the money raised) be put in trust until needed - for whatever end?
I’m worried about the hopes being pinned on a government bail out. I think RL clubs are really important civic institutions, and with their low overheads they offer great value. However, after a long period of austerity and with massive economic fallout from this situation still to come, sports clubs are going to be well down the line behind key public services and private sectors considered vital to society.

Fair point about ringfencing it - purpose would need to be clear. I'm saving money on my normal Hull FC level of expenditure - materially - at a time the club needs it the most - just feels wrong. I agree the government won't help, and as you say in the grand scheme of things there will be more important priorities than propping up RL.

| Do we still have that official Hull FC fans rep club thingy?
Is it possible to have an online forum with club and fans (maybe even pay to join in)
We could maybe find out how we (as fans) can best help the club. What sort of targets we need to look for

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| Pure guesswork, but walk-ups at home games is around 2k, so 10 home games still to play adds up to about £400k.
Then there's the cup. Serious money going missing at the moment, even with the players and staff taking paycuts of up to 35%.

| Just find out how much Pearson tried getting a loan for, then set up a fund we can donate to and try and reach the loan amount

How much of that would you think is profit (after ground rent) to pay salary and other ongoing expense?
To be of any real help, I was reckoning that we would be looking at needing around 1000 fans to contribute £100 each.

| Been thinking about this all weekend, as I feel the club could really suffer for yrs to come.
If every pass holder donated £20 payable in 2 payments, for instance one now and one in July.
This would give a potential pot of £160k which would help the club massively, and in return the club could honour this by reducing the price of next yr season passes

That would be the equivalent of a loan, which is obviously what AP has been trying to secure, but I reckon the club needs addition funding which doesn't add to the existing debt - remember AP said he had invested heavily in this seasons squad. A loan would be fine if the income streams came back to normal pretty soon, but I can't see that happening for a long time.
I wonder how many people wouldn't "risk" attending games next season, if a vaccine isn't available for at least another year.

Whilst I agree that people are saving on these outgoings, many of us have been Furloughed and therefore these savings are helping massively in keeping our depleted income stable. The clubs aren't the only ones worried about the future and whilst I'm not on the breadline by any stretch of the imagination, yet, there will be many many fans that will be worried about what the next few months hold financially because how many of our own working companies will survive this?

| Whilst I appreciate that money is tight for many people at the moment, I believe about 8500 of us were committed enough to the club, to purchase season passes.
If it gets to the stage where we need to take action, then I'm sure many of that number will be committed enough to donate a small sum to ensure that they get to use that pass again.
I definitely would.
