Quote: MorningGlory23 "Good signing , but can’t help feeling ,people are bigging him up a little to much . Pritchard was by far a better signing, and not many on here was this impressed with him'"

I think Pritchard gets a raw deal from a few on here. He was mainly used as one of the middles. Due to his reputation he attracted defenders, which opened up space elsewhere. Its no surprise that with him in the team we had a great season. Pritchard also made a lot of yards. From memory, the good friday derby were we pulled it around from 20 - nil down, Frank made more than 170 yards. That in a game where we massively under performed for nearly an hour.

I Dont watch NRL regularly enough to pass comment on Ma'u. From the bits I have seen of him, if looks like is a much younger version of Ellis. That cannot be a bad thing.

Don’t get me wrong , in this day and age , he’s a very good signing for us and sl. But like Freddie , I watch a lot of nrl and have never really stood out , scored a good try the other week and reckon he’ll do damage in sl. I loved frank , agree think many didn’t appreciate the affect he had on us , on and off the field

pritchard best game was his first in the friendly against rovers. Did a good job of the field but never hit the heights on it for such a big signing

As has been said we never saw the best of Frank because Radford moved him to play down the middle.
When he was used as a wide second row such as at Catalan his general play, offloading and combination with Tuimavave was exceptional.
If that left edge was left Carlos would have been one of the top try scorers in Super League

Manu Mau had a great game last time out for the Eels. He's deffo going to raise the bar of back row quality for us.

Quote: Freddie Miller. "I must admit that as an a NRL watcher he has not stood out for me as a special player. However, there are some great second rowers in this comp.

Am going to attend the West Tigers v Parramatta game on Sunday so looking forward to seeing him.'"

Had a good strong game in the win . I really wanted to see Wests Tigers win in Benji Marshall's 300th NRL game.

Manu Ma'u will play on Thursday night in the first NRL game(Brisbane v Parramatta) to have a female referee as one of the 2 controlling the match. I have seen her as a referee in reserve games and is very competent.

Correct. Error by me though. Brisbane play Canterbury not Parramatta on Thurs. Parramatta are away to Manly on Sunday. Sorry!

A bit harsh i think.
The standard this season is much better. Most of the time the refs get it right.
The problem is its always the referee when teams get beaten

Personally I think some expect far too much out of the referees and they are scrutinised on every decision in every game due to TV coverage. Yes, they make mistakes, but then again, so to the players / coaches etc.

Its rare a referee will cost a team a game, even when you think of some proper howlers (Ganson missing Dobsons forward pass 2012) its one decision out of 80 minutes. Then again, good bloke that Ganson, he took his time but he managed to even out that howler with and equally impressive decision a year later.

There is far too much going on during a game for 1 ref to be effective any more, particularly with teams training to push the rules to the limit constantly. I believe it's the clubs who clocked the move to 2 refs as they don't want to pay for it but then spend most of the time whinging about refs. I agree, on the whole they get most things right
