Quote: Cardiff_05 "Radford's track record of developing forwards is pretty good, gives him a decent shout.
Impressive highlight reel. Best part of 20 stone as a 19 year old, Christ!'"
Who has debuted under Radford in 4.5 years that is a starting XVII player that has come through the ranks? ... Answer no-one, forward or back, Radford hasn't developed anyone to a starting XVII std. Players have come straight in from outside, most youngsters have dropped away and being released so I don't agree that he is pretty good at doing so.
The nearest is Brad Fash who by next year be most likely be in the starting 17 when other players like Minichello depart. In the timescale it's a shocking indictment of how poor Radford and his team are at developing our homegrown talent.
As for Lewis, saw him at London last year, big lad and impressive when he gets a head of steam as can be seen, fair skittles the smaller players over (and also highlights poor tackling technique on bigger players)
Keeps his head screwed on and knuckles down he could become a massive deal in SL and beyond, it's a very good signing by the club,
extended Highlights reel https://youtu.be/pd2BGwXjjqU

The only reason it has taken so long for Radford to bring these players though is the poor handling of youth players from Gentle and Agar, Gentle wanted to get rid of Shaul and didn't want to play Lineham luckily Radford stopped both from happening.
Radford has not only given debuts to loads of young players and developed them him and his team have developed some established players like Bowden, Houghton, Hadle, Green, Shaul and watts.
Regularly players like Abdul, Fash, Masi etc are getting gsmetime.
So to say that Radford and his team are poor at developing players is total nonsense.

Before you post, do you sit down and think "How can I make myself look as stupid as possible today?" I barely read the threads anymore, but every single time I do, I stumble across some absolute nonsense from you. I apologise if you're suffering from a genuine condition, or have received a brain injury.
When a player makes his debut is completely irrelevant. Darryl Powell is highly regarded for improving players he coaches, almost none of which made a debut under him. If you can't see how the likes of Green, Bowden, Fash and Matongo have improved under Radford, then there's no point discussing anything with you. You're a halfwit that is so obsessed with his ridiculous agenda, that any outside stimuli can't pierce that impenetrable force field of idiocy you so proudly drape around yourself.

Spot on, you can add Hadley to the list of those who have improved under Radford to become a first team regular. That's without mentioning ongoing prospects like Logan, Turgut and Lane who have being getting opportunities. Even with a dud like Lancaster, you couldn't say the coach held him back. Bumpy's blind hatred of Radford knows no limits - I bet he's praying for a Cats win tonight so he can crank up that petition and bring out the banner again.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| Surely bumpy must be right, only 9 former academy players were in the squad at Leeds the other week?

| So no player from the academy to debut under Radford in the first XVII then, as I said, he doesn't develop players he just buys them in from outside the club and lets other coaches do the work.
Sorry but he and the coaching team are hopeless at bringing through and developing our youngsters, Leeds, Wigan, Cas, even Wakefield are better off the top of my head.
Two CC wins out of 12 trophies under his tenure isn't all that. You get giddy after two wins, Warrington had 3 in 4 and at least got to the GF, we've not even got there.
Why, because when it mattered we folded, players were flogged and we had no developed youngsters to back up.
All that despite being at full cap (over the cap in 2016 due to backloaded payments) despite a massive wedge thrown into the youth system that was already mature when Radford took over, we are as far away from being a top team as we've ever been and we won't progress under Radford anymore than we have.
I stand by what I said that he's an okay coach but he isn't good at bringing through and developing youngsters and he still isn't good enough to take us to the next level.
