| Thought the cheer that Radders got when he lifted the trophy was immense and one of the best things about the whole occasion.

| Longest 6 minutes of my life that. I'm pretty sure the drive home was shorter

| I cried during Abide with me - as I always do; in fact it starts in anticipation of it. Cried at the end and again watching the cup being lifted when I watched the last 10 minutes again on TV. I have little or no recollection of the last 7 minutes. I saw us go from losing to winning and then possibly lose it again - but didn't realise it was Houghton who made the tackle - it just didn't register at all with me.
I didn't realise that the game was up when mini dropped onto the loose ball. It was like an out of body experience.

| Quote: Kosh "I know I am. Watched it back last night and there are things in that last 20 minutes I don't remember from the game due to my mental state at the time. Never felt anything quite like it in my life.
They talk about roller-coaster emotions but this last week is the first time I truly understand the feeling. I'm a born pessimist but kept feeling that somehow the fates were aligned and we would finally win. Then by 60 minutes I was back in a familiar pit of negativity as it looked like we would fall short yet again. Then that last 20 minutes with it's mixture of elation, disbelief, and outright terror for the last 6 minutes.
Unbelievable. Something I will carry with me for ever.'"
This - and yes I did always do with Abide With Me but also at the end.

| I was delighted for you yesterday, here's why.
My first final was Wigan v Hull in 1959. Wembley then was standing and non-segregated. I was a 10 year old boy who went with my mam & dad, all of us Wigan fans. Stood next to us were a family of Hull fans including a young boy who was about eight or nine years old.
At the end of the game we were obviously happy, but the young Hull lad was in tears.
My dad turned to him and said, "You'll be alright, you'll be back and win"
I've thought about that moment every time, Hull have been to Wembey, more particularly since my dad died in 2003, and yesterday I shed a tear, for him, for you, and wondered if the young boy who would, like me, be in his sixties was there to see the game. I see sincerely hope he was.

Great post
Certainly been a long, long wait. My first final was in 1980. I remember being so envious of Wigan fans winning there eight years in a row - I just wanted one!

| Great thread this. Some great and some sad personal stories. That's what's great about our sport. I took my lad to his first final and we both cried. I watched it back today and had tears again. What a fantastic day!

| Before the tears came there was screaming. I dropped my head back, faced the sky and just screamed and screamed until my voice broke and I collapsed back into my seat. The lads in front had turned round to watch. One fella said "You are a very passionate man. And we are the best fans and have the best team and we deserve this." Then I cried.

| Couldn't even slightly tear up after the game as i was still just wondering how we managed to get back into the game as it looked like Wire had us figured out but when i got home after the long, long ride home.....it all came out after watching the last 20 or so mins again.

| My grandad was us. He has barely missed a game since the second world war. He carries his fathers, my great grandads Hull FC scarf with him. In the last 6 minutes, he was talking to his scarf (actually, he was talking to his Dad and my Uncle)... We had 4 generations at Wembley on Saturday. I know he is emotional when he goes quiet and still. I think he is thinking about all the years, games and people of the past.
He told me today after the homecoming that it was his biggest wish.

I'm kind of the same. I still don't get how we won. Currie should have scored, Gidley should have made those kicks. It was written in the stars.
