The French resistance movement never happened then.'"
There's a programme on Channel 5 called World War 2 in colour on Saturday evenings. Might have finished now, but probably available on catch up. You ought to watch it. Certainly puts your 'Occasional bombing' theory to the test.
I'm not saying the French didn't fight, far from it, but it may also educate you on who fought the wars in France, and the scale of non-French casualties.
It is certainly worth watching.

| Quote: Burtons Forearm "[*]Now go educate yourself on French casualties. The damage in St Petersburg Stalingrad, Berlin, the massacre of French Jews, trade unionists French gypsies, the rounding and slaughtering of whole towns and villages around France who showed any resistance to the German occupation.
The destruction of Warsaw and Poland. The 20 MILLION dead Russians, the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Come post some stats on those people and then we can talk from an educated view point on the war and the bravery of the French and other nationalities.
Try opening your other eye....it's enlightening.
Your outrage at my post has little validity without a comparable outpouring to the ridicule (and I have not ridiculed the victims of Hull) of the French victims.'"
Don't patronise me I'm well aware of the history of the WW2. In fact I've I have been to Lenningrad not St Petersburg as you incorrectly called it and was moved to tears when I learned about the siege and how they suffered during " The Great Patriotic War" The Soviets in particular suffered appallingly and that should not be forgotten. Nobody is denying that the French and other Countries suffered terrible casualties but to call us "lucky" is crass and insulting. You have made an ass of yourself and I suggest you stop posting before you embarrass yourself further.

The World at War is better. First hand interviews with all the major protagonists left alive from all sides.
Literature is better I find though.

| Quote: Burtons Forearm "Wow the abuse I've had pointing out some issues with Mr Pritchard's form on the match thread then you read this and my dislike for Mr Taylor's antics during his career.
This thread is an embarrassment to those of you responsible.
Good on some of you for criticising the racsism and classless bile (even you COYH).
Get your own house in order before you criticise others.
Disgusting thread.
Surrender monkey.......f#ck me.
A guy that size playing this game and someone calls him a coward. He looked real cowardly tackling Pritchard and dropping him 1-1.
Regards the racism. Just some facts. The French fought 2 world wars in their own country while we sat luckily on our island being bombed occasionally.'"
Why shouldn't I criticise an offensive post?
You don't like most of what I put on here but that's because the truth often hurts. You should get down off your high horse given your propensity for abusive posts.

| Anyway, despite the diversionary tactics by BF, he dived in a cowardly fashion and then skulked off.
The RFL should ban him .

Embarrass. How?
You've been to St Petersburg.....then Leningrad. Well done. You'll appreciate then that in comparison to the damage and death in Hull though appalling ( my point about all war which appears to have gone over your head) was occasional in comparison to this and hundreds of other cities through out the world during the second world war.....Dresden, Toyko, London, Gdansk, etc etc etc.
Don't allow posts be belittling the suffering of the French go by then get all outraged about comparisons to Hull´s suffering.
This de humanizing of others leads to the appalling wars that we humans so seem to enjoy.
The current horrific treatment of the Syrians fleeing there current tragedy is down to this psychology. We sit by watching them and their children drown yet get outraged at the word occasional.
I suggest you read my posts twice or more then have a little think before replying in future.

| How embarrassing is this thread?
How can a cowardly act by a French Rovers player become a ing contest about the atrocities suffered in WW2 and the relative levels of knowledge of history of those entering that doomed debate?
The pathetic person who came on here and steered the conversation in that direction is to be pitied, can only assume it's his acute misery from yesterday's 20 minute wipe-out that prompted this unwise deflection. Desperation. Just ignore it.

Based on what, exactly?
Quote: Burtons Forearm "The moral outrage over diving I don't get either. It's cheating and annoying. Yet we cheer serious attempts at injuring people or triumph the player who tries to injure opponents.
Diving has never crippled anyone.....other behaviours on the sporting field have yet we champion them.'"
You may do. I never have.
And diving draws 'moral outrage' in RL because it's cowardly and dishonest in a sport that prizes courage and honesty (although it often falls short). Similar outrage is expressed for cheap shots and deliberate attempts to injure.
Quote: Burtons Forearm "You took some of the offensive post down. I hope that was through moral choice and not your duty as a moderator.'"
The two are not mutually exclusive.

Thank you. I would suggest you go to St Petersburg not only because it's a beautiful city but you get more of an education of what went on rather than watching the history channel.
No doubt as a student of history you will know that it was St Petersburg - Petrograd - Lenningrad. I sometimes find that the history channel isn't as informative as it could be.
You are trying to impress me with your deep knowledge of history and the current atrocities that go on in the world. Well done. I do know and am appalled by it just like you.. It also seems that you are trying to deflect the insult you made to this Country in your earlier post.
Back to my point. You used the word "Luckily" whether in context or not it was a poor choice of word which if you had anything about you should retract and apologise.
Now back to Rugby.
