They need to do more than express an interest, they need to be immediately available I.e. unemployed because no team will release its coach mid-season.

All this talk of bringing a top class coach in is pie in the sky. All the established decent coaches are tied up to clubs. Expressing an interest is a world away from someone leaving a club to come here. There've been vacancies before at this club and as far we know (with some confidence though) that no one "decent", the kind of name people are clammering for, has applied. If any of these names had applied we wouldn't have ended up with failed NRL coaches or assistants elsewhere or cheaper rookies. Some folk seem to think that just mentioning Hull FC would be enough to have a host of Wayne Bennetts knocking on the door. We are a name in RL but no more so than Wakefield or Fev' or Leigh. The Hull FC brand doesn't have the value or appeal a lot of posters think it does. And stumping up big cash doesn't necessarily buy anything more than a coaching mercenary.
And some of the blame has to lay with us fans. Why would someone leave themselves open to some of the vitriolic bile that's written on these forums ? Criticism does come with the territory of a head coach but some posters need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Customers expecting a return on their investment, how very dare they, we should keep paying £25 a game to watch players whom, in some cases, don't care. As much as I hate to say it, oh to have Horne/Manu and Tickle back, at least they tried. Radford needs to go, otherwise we'll be away at Dewsbury before we know it!

Your post had some credibility up until you blamed the fans on this forum for deterring would be coaches. What utter codswallop that is. Do you really think this forum even registers on the consciousness of those involved in the game, really?
Wayne Bennett was going to take the job but then read this forum and changed his mind yeah I can see that happening.
All would be coaches would be interested in is salary paid, contract, squad investment/recruitment and club infrastructure. Not what's being said on here by a minority.
But just incase you're right I better go stare in the mirror right now as yes I'm ashamed to say I have questioned Radfords coaching ability.
I'm not suggesting a top class Nrl coach would come here neither is anyone else but look at the make up of SL coaches all have been assistants in their own right and have either come through the successful structures at clubs or proven on merit they've been good enough to step up, neither unfortunately Radford can claim.
If a promising assistant or decent first team coach did express an interest in this club then contracts in sport as we have learnt aren't worth the paper they're written in at times.

| 1 out of 5 is probably were everyone expected us to be, isn't it? That's why you were all predicting 7-8th??
Everyone was surprised to see us beat Hudds 1st up, so out of Leeds, Wigan & Warrington, which was we expected to win? Because we've been damn close in all but one of them.

So what are you saying then? Because we are an 8th placed team it's quite acceptable to lose to every top 7 team? You don't ever play the top 4 teams expecting to win, but you do expect to turn one of them over every now and then.

Many will settle for 8th best, nevermind second best

Because bitching about not being top four on here on here will make a tangible difference to club policy. Have a word.

I don't think anyone thinks having a rant will change anything, that's not the point. People are just frustrated with the club and want to have their say.
1 from 5 isn't a good return regardless of the opposition, but if we are performing well and getting beaten by a better team (as with Warrington) then we can stomache it. Afterall it's been a difficult set of fixtures.
The main issue for me isn't the results (Salford is the only really poor one) it's the fact that we just continue to show the same deficiencies as years gone by. No structure in attack, no support play, poor last tackle options, bad decision making and some forwards not pulling their weight. The effort has been there by and large, but we have said for years that when we get some proper half backs we will turn the narrow losses into narrow wins. Well we have the half backs now and there is no evidence of improvement whatsoever.

Wouldn't disagree with any of that. My point was implying people who don't complain incessantly are "settling" for second best. Personally I'm not "settling" for anything. Relentless negativity without realistic constructive suggestions delivers what to support our club exactly? The extent of repetition at the moment is crazy. Most think Radford's not the right choice. There's only so many ways to trot this out, even if you set up separate threads to say the same thing.

You should never have merged with Gateshead, is this your 15 year aniversary? What happened to the last 100 years? Oh yeah you gave it away, not your own ground, you play on a premiership football ground! Oh dear, Hull Kingston Rovers must be laughing!'"
And Wigan play on a championship football ground, and get dictated to when they can play and when they can`t.
Wigan very lucky indeed to have 5 points in the league.
Only drew with Widnes
Scraped home against Huddersfield
Lost to HKR
Lost to Cas
Scraped a win against Hull
In fact Wigan are lucky to have any points at all.

7 seasons ago, then.
That said, as a DOR he'd probably bring a load to the table. But in reality why would he come back to the UK?
