| Quote: knockersbumpMKII "Not only did the first 17 NOT get 2 full games games together, the majority won't have had many minutes playing time in over 3 weeks before the Hudds game(the last meaningful game time being the first half of the rovers match). So whatever this 2 game plan was the timing and putting (the majority of the first 17) up against a 3rd tier team was a mistake.
But that is far too intellectually advanced for you to understand, which by definition makes you a dobbins fan..

| The problem with friendly's is that we as fans have different needs and expectations from then than the club do. Perhaps it isn't in the clubs best interest to show their hand too much before the real stuff starts. Perhaps if we chilled out and recognised them as the glorified training sessions they are then there will be less over emotional reaction to them. After all in Australia they have had full pre season competitions with rewards on offer yet the teams that do well in that don't necessarily go well in the season proper and vice versa. As for Hull's games I'm mystified by some of the teams selected with regards to consideration of the strength of the opposition but there may well be sound reasoning behind it. The only pre season game I do object to, and the only one I refused to go to (again) is the one against the dobbins. Other than as a money grubbing exercise I can't see any benefit at all to it but plenty of negatives. If you go all out to win then opportunities to test some players and combinations are lost. If it is treated as a trial and heaven forbid you lose on the scoreboard (even if it does provide useful information to the coaching staff) then there is a bad vibe around which puts some in a negative mood before the season has even started. For this and the other games Hull haven't helped themselves much with their promotion and build up to them, alternately hyping them up and then being secretive about the weakened teams that they knew were being put out. This more than anything has contributed to the understandable "pointless" tag for them. In the end perhaps we should just be thankful that serious injuries appear to have been avoided.
I don't know what the best formula for next year is though, other than the dobbins game needs binning.

Not going to happen, the club announced this season's Clive Sullivan Trophy game as a annual event going forward.

Hahaha, that's so atypical of someone with your intellectual level. You respond with childish emoticons because you have no answer & have zilch to come back to make a cogent arguement for Radford's actions.
Please explain why Radford continues to make the same mistakes as last year, why he can't even formulate a decent plan on how best to build up to a start of a season, the guy is a complete incompetent, he can't even fathom the basics of coaching...
Yeah if we win I;ll be delighted, but we are going absolutely no-where with Radford, he's got as many braincells as you which aint many..

Thread drifting again Mrs Barista and what's the saying when one needs to resort to swearing?
Negativity, of course is subjective. Many would call 96% of your own posts ( it's easy to pluck figures out the air) are happy, clappy optimistic one's, nothing wrong with that, you are after all preaching to the converted so to speak but maybe go easy on those fellow hull fans who views are more negative than your own so they are accused of being Rovers fans because they don't fit in with your own agenda.
I think answering Rob Crossland's call should fall upon fans using t'other board to be honest, be them HKR supporters or lurkers
Anyway back on thread, I'm sure AP will now ensure LR receives more specific advice on how many friendlies to play pre 2016.

My agenda is to support Hull FC, that's all. It suits yours of course to call me happy clappy, but this week already I've posted in bad mood from Wakefield, said that our three bench props haven't been good, that we need to sort our internet ticketing or lack thereof. Happy Clappy would be exemplified by getting into double figures eulogising about aspects of the derby friendly performance, then getting smashed up by Warrington and suddenly reporting you're not going to comment on performances for the first few rounds. My posting style reflects my outrageously positive attitude to life and my enjoyment of many aspects of supporting Hull FC. If that irks you, add me to your foes.
I'm unsure quite what you bring to the party tbh. You're by definition a troll - a self-confessed Hull KR fan the majority of whose posts are on here. Negativity may be "subjective" but it's fair to say they're not positive or neutral. Trolling is fine. We welcome the likes of SirStan for example, who brings some acidity, humour and banter. RBA with his borderline-lunatic evangelism for the academy. Easty for his fairweather sojourns and instant hibernation when results are unkind. Sadly your brief history shows little grounds for optimism. Formulaic stirring about Radford for example when there are plenty of Hull FC fans who make the same points with far greater eloquence and relevance than you appear capable of. Neither wit nor insight nor fun, just a technique as tired as the "timely boost" and as stale as two week old smoke from Ryan Bailey's cigars. My advice would be to mix it up a bit. A little self-deprecation perhaps (Rovers fans are supremely awful at this, truly abysmal). Content that's not simply taking today's HDM article and being cranky about it (use the comments section there). Or maybe just taking a magic wand to your sack of impotent "jibes" and transforming them into something interesting, humourous, diverse, constructive or Rovers-related on the Rovers board. Ideally the latter, numbers are down, remember.
As for Radford and Pearson, I'd expect the chairman to have a say about friendlies. It's hardly been the perfect pre season but maybe between them they agree on the plan for 2016 and it's AP who's had the interview. I'm uncertain where the concrete evidence is that confirms otherwise.

Any update on your Micky Paea to Wigan rumour?

I don't have 'an argument for Radford's actions'. I'm not party to what goes on inside the club - who is fit and who isn't, or what it is we're trying to achieve in the friendlies. I'm no fan whatsoever of friendlies and Pearson's comments about having only one gets my vote, albeit I won't attend a derby friendly any time.
Your constant criticism about Radford is painfully boring. If we're struggling after 10 'real' games I'd hope Radford is shown the door. If we're doing well I'd hope you'd be on here congratulating the coach and the team.

| How do you know Radford keeps making the same mistakes as last year, when we haven't played even played a competitive game yet. Let's judge him when we have played a couple games at least.

Just a quick question. Why do you feel the need to insult people who have a different opinion to you?

He's mired himself that deep with his anti-Radford stance that he's now got no other alternative.
He does have to occasionally drop in the, 'I'd be really be happy to be proved wrong' just to cover his own poisonous @rse.

IF you had bothered to read the thread, the poster I referred to called me intellectually deficient, I was just repeating back exactly what they did..Obviously the mods weren't interested in telling the poster not to use insulting comments so I threw it back in exactly the same fashion using the same words..HTH
