Quote: Doncar "If you hate to say it then dont, for christ sake, why would we need him, of all people, as i keep saying, hes at Doncaster, is this the level, we aspire to, have we not learnt our lesson yet, if we are going to change our coach
then why dont we get one with a proven record, you know, just for a change !!!!'"

Calm down, I think he meant bring him in as an assistant to help coach the halves!

Which would be a good idea, but not needed right now that we've signed Pryce.

Thanks for the advice, i know what he meant, and we still do not need a person like him at our club,

If its ok with you, its just my opinion.

Syned's a cracking signing for you, I didn't see that one coming.

Pryce's signing is an unusual one though (reminds me of a Galea signing) he's used to the good life in the south of France nowadays and it could be a big culture shock moving to Hull.

Quote: WIZEB "Being honest I probably personally wouldn't have gone down the Pryce route, but hey, things are what they are.
Sneyd could end up, hopefully, being a very shrewd bit of business if we can get some longevity out of him.
Both will get my backing.
There ours now.'"

Pryce has been disappointing at Perpignan, we were expecting bigger things from such a big reputation. Ironically , this season has been his best tho' not many Cats fans will be sad to see him go. He's a quality act on his day but a two-year contract at your lot seems rather 'generous' ! Good luck to him anyway.

wonder if Pryce might have been offered some kind of coaching role with us, assuming Horne is going to work with the junior sides as rumoured and not go to a first team assistant coaching role.

Your opinion is ok with me, but why moan about changing the coach if you knew what he meant?

Maybe long term, but i'd imagine his next two years would be solely as a player.

Quote: carl_spackler "Potentially very good recruitment, as on paper it could be exactly what we need. However (there always seems to be a catch these days), this has been true to say of several half back signings in recent years, and there are still factors we're gambling on this time, so I'll wait and see how it pans out before getting excited.

Also, I personally think it's a shame that Miller hasn't worked out for us. I still think he could become a very good player, he just seems to have got lost this year and isn't developing quickly enough for us. A consistent good quality half back partner and better support/runners may have also helped him, as I think Robbo4 makes a very good point

This post sums up, our recent weaknesses in attack, no matter the calibre of HB, if they have no options/runners-
nothing changes.

I personally feel its a good bit of business. Sneyd at £100k (possibly plus) may be a risk, but christ other clubs take these risks. Myler at Wire is developing well, Long to Saints all those years back didn't work out too shabby in the end. The list is endless.
Pryce will do us well for two years. I just hope we don't immediately ship out Abdul and HTW on season long loans as they will learn a lot from Pryce.
Its a start and a massive step in the right direction. Coincidentally announced in a week when we start getting some revenue back into the club.
I do think we now need a dedicated attack coach who can work with the squad to develop systems and moves that will progress us and propel us back into a secure top 8 position and then on from there. I don't feel the majority of us are ready for Cooke yet, but I suspect it will be him. He is after all doing much more than a lot of us want him to be doing already.

i think sneyd is the best we could have hoped for, since tickle went we have lost points on our goal kicks and sneyd is just the one for that role..

that's what I meant icon_wink.gif 2 years player, then retire into a coaching role as part of the deal. Wouldn't complain about having such an experienced attacking player as a coach.

Not really, he's hardly a stranger to the north of England or even Hull for that matter.

Also worth pointing out that he's played almost seventy games in two and a half seasons at Catalans. Good fitness record for his age.

Must admit, as a Hull fan I'm finding this a bit difficult to take in!
