But yes, there's no way Miller isn't playing because of Carvell's arrival.'"
Maybe with an idiot's guide how to manual, so you quote the right one?

I think you're wrong there mate. According to my checkings just now we won four matches with a HB combi of Azza and Horney but six with a combination of Holdsworth and Miller.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| Quote: carl_spackler " Surely a player can't be deemed as not on the cap because they haven't played until the point that they leave?'" Obviously, before the season starts, nobody has played but there is a "live" salary cap registered with the RFL.
I'm sure it's the final cap at the end of the season that actually counts, and only players who have played a competitive match are included.
The live cap is to avoid/catch problems early so they can be dealt with straight away (rather than in previous years when it was after the season had ended.)
So while it may seem stupid to exceed the live cap, it's fine as long as it's ok at the end of the season.

I'm not convinced that's right. I recall that when the live cap was introduced, it was suggested that signings would not be ratified and registered unless they fit into a club's live cap space. I could be wrong, but I don't think it's as you say.

| There seems to be something in the rules under the "Ongoing Assessment of a Club’s Aggregate Liability" section.
Quote: Ongoing Assessment of a Club’s Aggregate Liability "At any point during the Salary Cap Year, where a Club wishes to commit itself to any transaction, or to conduct itself (by act or omission) in any manner, which varies its Aggregate Liability, the Club must first provide to the RSCM written details of the proposed transaction or conduct, and evidence of the impact that such transaction or conduct would have on its Aggregate Liability. In no circumstances is the Club permitted to proceed with such transaction or conduct without the RSCM’s express written approval. '"
With one of the examples shown here
Quote: Ongoing Assessment of a Club’s Aggregate Liability "6.1.2 Where the proposed transaction is the termination of a Playing Contract with one of the Club’s existing Players, as part of which the Club proposes to make a new payment (in a lump sum or in instalments) to the Player that was not provided for in his Playing Contract or other arrangements (and therefore was not previously included in the calculation of his Salary Cap Value) (the “Termination Payment”), then the information provided to the RSCM must include a proposed compromise agreement between the Player and the Club (usually in the form of the RFL’s standard compromise agreement as drafted from time to time) setting out full details of the agreement reached, including full details of the Termination Payment. '"
Again it is at the discretion of the RSCM. I seriously hope we as a club are not hedging our bets on the RFL being sympathetic to our cause. Also do we want to be seen as the club that will get rid of players pretty quickly. It has 2 effecs on the club.
1, Players can come for an easy payday know if they fail to perform they will be hoofed out with a nice settlement.
2, Players will not want to come with the pressure of knowing the club have a habit of binning players who do not fit in.

| Either there is some substance in the Craig Hall to FC rumour !!!
Or Radford doesn't think miller is simply not good enough !!
In regards to not playing miller due to cap reasons then why did Radders take the risk of have him 18th man a couple of times this season when 1 late injury and then he has to play ?

You could well be right.
It just seems that the signing of players would have an additional hurdle to jump, which at worst would delay the signing for a number of days.

| Yesterday, Houghtons distribution was slow, inaccurate and readable. Heremaia offers more there at the moment in terms of speed and metres. Putting him at 7 is just unnecessary. We have to at least give Rankin and Miller a chance there. His defence cannot be as bad as Ben Crooks at the moment. Lets face it, Dobson's defence was woeful for Rovers and he was their mojo and won them games. Millers sat in the stand on his 3DS. If he's never going to play, send him back.
I just hope Radfords not going to persist with Horne there.
If the rumours about Shauls injury are true, get him at fullback where he is more effective and away from putting his boot onto a ball.
