| Apparently they're not now walking away in 24 hours. Who'd have thought it? They were relocating to Melton after not getting the stadium, right? The Sporting Village gift had no commercial aspect to it when outlined, yet subsequently the commercial income they expected it to generate was a cornerstone of their plan. Amazing stuff. Truly.

| My hope in this is that the poll is independent without loaded questions - the fans have led a great campaign and fair play to them for that. Threats to get their own way is the mark of a bully. Where are the £10 tickets for all? Nowhere to be seen - in fact its likely to be 4 times that next year with the threatened price increases. Running the SMC into the ground is a backhand tactic to try and prove the stadium isn't viable and not pay the Council any dividend.
I haven't seen the promised land at Melton just yet - and I suppose there is no money left for that right now. realistically City have no net worth - they own few assets and have a £70m loan around their neck. Whats to stop some consortium from buying it and taking it into administration for a 10 point penalty and paying the Allam family 10p in the pound (not that would be irony - ruscadors!!)

How do you work that out? Are you saying our rent will double because a tenant moved out?
HCC are fed up to the teeth of the Mental Egyptian and his threats, they're hardly likely to upset the only tenant left at their stadium. With any luck, if the fruitcake walks away, we can have concerts at the stadium instead of poxy squash and polo.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |

Bit more in the Guardian article...

If they are that fed up of him why do they persist in allowing him to run the stadium?
On concerts are they the type that nearly bankrupt AP?
I personally can't wait to see the back of him as he has caused nothing but disruption since he came on the scene. He has done absolutely nothing for the city of Hull. A city he claims to love. I wish HCAFC well without him. If that means that they drop out of the PL or even the championship I am sure it will be for the good of the club and allow some stability.
All he has done is saddle the club with debt as opposed to being the Knight in Shinning armour that he claims he is. He will get his fortune back with interest and leave City in the mire again, unless there is someone willing to throw good money at it without any hope of a return.

| Quote: easthullairliebird "reading between the lines I think the allams are wanting a way out and in todays climate that can't be good for city, the problem lies in the stadium capacity this been the reason he wanted to buy it. I can see city playing Shorpe and co in a couple of seasons with 4000 supporters watching them, Hull is a rugby city always has and always will be. I know city fans will be slagging me off for this but I watched city vs Newcastle at weekend and wasn't bothered who won, just wanted to watch a prem team at the kc. That doesn't make me a glory supporter just curious and will continue to renew my anfield season pass, its sad when there are more Liverpool and man utd fans in this city than actual city fans. At least allam wont be trying to screw fc out of more money in a couple of years.'"
Its not sad its embarrassing and people like you are the problem. You have a local football team, if your interested in football then you support them. There's no reason to be a Liverpool fan if your from Hull other than glory hunting, you might as well ditch FC and support the Rhinos instead.

The last few concerts made a loss, that's why there hasn't been any more.

Why wouldn't it? Two companies pay rent for use of the stadium. One ceases to exist in your scenario. You really think the council and whoever is in charge of the SMC would allow us to keep paying the same rent? The stadium would end up looking like Boothferry Park did.

I can't really see that happening - Allam would have tried it already if our tenancy agreement wasn't rock solid.
