No reason to strip Ellis of the armband. Houghton and Westerman to battle it out when Ellis' contract comes up. I can't really decide between the pair.

How so?

Not sure about any comparisons but Ellis captained us in the worst performance in the club's history and a pretty awful one at Wembley in an ordinary season. Even if it is accepted that the coaching was poor - and the jury's out on that in my view - there is no question that the players played one week and not the next. The Captain and other senior players can't just abrogate their responsibility in that. It is entirely reasonable to question whether the captain did his job and on the surface at least it his performance looks as inconsistent as the team so he didn't exactly do much to enhance his claims for next season. As with anything though , it's no good changing unless we're sure we've got a better candidate for the job.

Standee its not possible for Ellis to be a worse captain then radturd. At least Ellis (when fit ) puts the minutes in ON the pitch where you need a captain. On a serious note on this theme of giving local lads a chance who better then Houghton for captain hull lad, puts the minutes in and leads by example, vice for me should be stilts for been a consistent performer and fans fav
