As a neutral, I would have to go for Whiting, he really got stuck in & Wigan couldn’t handle his offloads.

Holdsworth is the one player who disappointed me. Miller is a kid brought over here for his potential, you kind of expect him to struggle with the occasion. Holdsworth is our leader and was just as bad, if not worse than the others.

Correct he was in our top 3 with Whiting and Heremaia - Shaul did his very best in his 6th first team game. Briscoe is leaving so some fans can't give him any credit any more.

The constant knocking of Westerman is a thing I will never ever understand.

Westerman has good points and bad points which sums him up to me... Average

As a neutral (who wanted you to win!) Shaul really impressed me. I think he was probably the youngest player on the pitch and he was definitely the least experienced yet IMO he showed more balls than some of your senior players who should have been showing leadership and cool heads.

Pity that Gentle couldn't have extracted Tickle, Ben C, Miller and Holdworth and replaced them with players who didn't choke as I think they stood out as your worst culprits. I felt sorry for Ben C as he looked as nervous as hell before the match and clearly his nerves got the better of him.

Miller and Crooks are both younger than Shaul actually, but I was also impressed that Shaul didn't seem to be bothered by the occasion. Crooks did look nervous, but it also doesn't help that he hasn't played for a couple of months.

Westerman has to be moved to right 2nd row. His ball handling abilities are wasted at 13.

Have we always moved Ben Crooks to the wing on their 5th?

Well, if we're accepting that stats give an accurate representation of a player's contribution, you'd have to conclude that he's been nothing special. As you say, some good stuff, but quite a few negatives as well. He had an impressive start to the season this year, but overall he's been no better than 'satisfactory' in his time with us.

Shaul was a standout for me! To have such a low number of games under his belt this year and to perform in such a way was a bonus!

We must sign him up long term, for the sake of wasted talent sat in the stands or in the worst case scenario losing him to someone else, he must be signed long term!
