It did when he started running but had some injections and more treatment n looking good now. Should/could be right for brad although he doesn't think he'll be risked n given extra week.

| Quote: Panda92 "I cannot understand why anyone on here wants us to play Horne or Holdsworth at LF.
The reason that we lost 4 consecutive matches is because our pack was being overrun. Our LF plays like an extra prop, not a ball-handling 13. Switching that out in order to play Horne or Holdsworth will not help out forwards at all.
For me, Miller plays. Out of the 4 that can play in the halves (Miller, Holdsworth, Horne, Heremaia) he is the only one who is a proper scrumhalf. I also think that he's shown a lot of potential in the few games he's played for us.
I'd give Holdsworth the nod to partner him, too. Both Horne and Holdsworth have been good in the games they've played for us so far (although I think a lot of Horne's form has been down to Holdsworth giving him the freedom to play that way). I would pick Holdsworth over Horne simply down to him having the better kicking game and will therefore give us a better rounded team.'"
Great post, and I agree about the pack, but having Horne on the bench and coming into the loose forward role 25mins into the game could open up a lot of tired packs, also his defence is awesome and wouldn't worry me to see him playing in that role. However not all game...

Must admit to being in the baldy camp on this one.
Miller starts at 7 for me, he's our scrum half, hopefully for several more years.
DJ''s long kicking game is good but I want a bit more from him going forward.
Hasn't had the best first of seasons on the injury front to be fair.
PG's shout on who partners Miller, probably depends whose ready to comeback first.

Ah ok, that's good news. Maybe off the bench this week to prepare for the QF then. Would like to see how Horney and Miller go together.

| If all three are fit what about Horne going to 13 with the other two in the halves? Horne certainly adds a lot defensively. Didn't Gentle say something earlier in the year about signing another ppivot so that we had three on the park? Wouldn't be a bad situation to be in

Apart from the fact that our forwards would get steamrollered. Horne is a stand off. If he's not playing in the halves (or covering full back) he shouldn't play.

That'd only work if we put O'Meley at full back.

| The only way to realistically shoehorn them all into the same 13 is Horne at full back, but then I like McDonnell. Just trust Gentle to make the right call.

| From an outsiders perspective: If Horne is better than Miller it is only slightly, and Miller will surpass Horne sooner rather than later. Surely youre better off giving Miller the time needed to develop into the potential long term scrum half youve needed for so long? If you need to play Horne anywhere could he do a job at 13? If not he is a better back up half/13 than most teams have.

| i would go for holdsworth and horne if fit - we played some pretty good rugby with these 2 in tandem before they got injured. miller is a good young player but this is a big game and you can't buy experience for these games. i would think about putting him on the bench but probably go for heremaia as he is more versatile (covers halves and hooker).
miller is one for the future and needs an extended pre season with the team to fully bed in

| Holdsworth should be back for Friday and Horne is likely to be available for the semi.
Along with Miller, there are pros and cons for all three but after the last few seasons how good is it to have a positive half back selection problem.

| Playing Horne/DJ at 13 is a complete no no for me.
Miller is the natural scrum half. DJ has the best kicking game and Horne has the pace/running game. The best combination is probably DJ/Horne. It wouldn't hurt for Miller to have a game or two out.
It's a tough choice but right now i'd say Horne/DJ would be my pick. That's hard to say though as I have been impressed with Miller.
Tough call for Gentle.

| I'd definitely keep Miller in & give the other spot to either DJ or Horne, depends who looks the better in training. Yes Horne was in decent form before he got injured but that was 8 weeks ago now whereas Miller is in good form himself at present. IMO we've got to play the form players & atm that includes Miller.
