Are you suggesting that because he didn't accept a contract offer he should have been discarded, even with over 12 months left?
If so, you are not backward, you are just plain stupid.
Perhaps if lynch had not accepted a contract extension last season he should have been sold? Why not go one further and suggest that Rich Swain was never really that committed as he had the audacity to retire.'"
what im saying is, it was clearly evident to all at hull fc that he had his heart set on moving back to lancashire... and with that, why didnt we offer him the oppotunity to leave a year early so we could get some transfer funds back from a player who has been handsomely paid for 7 years by our club..?? whats the issue with that
i think you'll find that ANY top football team would place a player on the transfer list if they knew that player had no intention of signing a new deal... simple business..... now whos stupid

my sentiments exactly

So your saying it's Pearson and Gentles fault and they are stupid?
If Tickle helps us get to Wembley by kicking the winning goal and the club make loads of money out of it, will you then be calling the decision stupid?
Maybe we should have sold Briscoe last year, Manu and Moa the year before?
Hull could have sold him, but wanted the best squad possible for this season and that included Tickle, if we had sold him last year they would have been a 10 pages thread on him complaining about it, the club cant win with fans like you.

I'm curious as to what headline the print copy carried.

For what it's worth. Hull did set a price for Widnes to take him however it was £100,000+ so we decided Hainaut it for the sake of just this season.
Hull obviously decided that was his value to you this year (if you like).
Good reading the positive comments on Danny though. Many go the other way when a player leaves

Two different sports. Completely different scenarios.
And, what Calr Spackler and Dave K said.
My original point still stands.
Football is the only sport where significant transfer fees occur. RL has adopted the system that most sports do for player movement.
You,need to get our of this idea that players are in it for the pride, the shirt and the badge. Very VERY few will be like that unless they are died in the wool locals. It's their job. They will go where they can get the best deal which suits them. In rare situations its not just about money, as in Tickles case.

or players stay put because they get away with behaviour which wouldn't be accepted elsewhere, and FC have had those aplenty, Good luck to Tickle and Briscoe, moving on for what they believe to be better (financially, emotionally or just perceptionally)
we'll miss Tickle more than Briscoe.
