Quote: Jake the Peg "If ryan hall had spent the last 6 years on Hull's wing he wouldn't have had one season where he'd have scored 10 or more tries'"

Very true. He wouldn't be playing as regularly for England either.

Quote: knockersbumpMKII "Personally i don't think Hall is anything except a finisher, an exceptional one but there is nothing else to his game that makes him stand out, I'd have charnley above Hall myself. Lineham is going to be better, maybe that is why he/she was laughing..or maybe they really think hall is the greatest winger ever and Lineham won't hit the heights..who knows'"

Aye. That's why I was laughing. I like Hall. I do. He plays the piano and everything. I prefer him when he's not bleached his hair, though. But as you say, he's naught but a hefty finisher. Lineham will be so, so much more. He'll be greater than Briscoe to boot, and I rate Briscoe far ahead of Hall, when he's on his game (which we all know he's not been recently).

Felt a bit sorry for Briscoe last night. He was desperate for some ball but that wing never gets fed any more. I could almost feel the frustration from him osmosing though the rain into the east stand. Not just the Yeamo factor, ball consistently went right from dummy half.

Funny thing about Briscoe. He always seems to take half a season to find form. Wasn't it a pep talk from McBanana that kick started him last year? Something like "When you start playing for Hull I'll start considering you for England"?

Briscoe even came up with a try saving tackle on the other side of the field last night. Great player who will be missed

Agree with the Hall argument, his size makes him such a good finisher as he is hard to get in touch...... but apart from that... His size and pace should mean he is unstoppable but he goes missing in a lot of games and does very little work IMO.

Don't think half our fans even realise what we have with him. Best outside back we've produced for nearly 30yrs, beyond my yrs of supporting. We are wasting him more this yr than ever before. Lineham is great, but he's big strong fast n has good attitude. Briscoe is although not massive, squat, fast, long range but more so accelerating from nothing, tremendous footwork, strength that defies his size, agility and pure instinct.
Some bells shouting 'prove you wanna play for us'. This to 1of the league's top tacklebusters n metres makers who's being started of ball!!

I'm sure we won't miss him with crookes taking his place next year

The thing with briscoe is we all know what he as in his locker and how much potential he has , but surely even his biggest fans must admit he's not shown hardly anything this season . Not saying he's not trying but not a patch on previous seasons . On his day he's a world beater and unplayable but at the minute them games are very few . Sad to see him go but crookes as impressed me every time I've seen him so on this seasons performances won't be as bigger loss as I'd have thought .

I've liked crooks a lot but Briscoe he isn't. Gonna need another wing. Can't just run with 2

Mate he's still top 4 tackle busts n metres in the league with no ball n rubbish field position most of the yr. Can you honestly name a time last night he received a remotely attacking pass? Can you honestly say had he been playing right side there are any tries lineham has scored that Briscoe wouldn't have?
Could play anyone on that left at the moment and they'd struggle to look good

We'll miss Tom Briscoe massively. Anyone who suggests otherwise is either lying or just trying to underplay his departure.

Not for one minute saying he's rubbish or past it but sometimes they can be misleading . I'm judging him on current form and what I see with my eyes . He's definatly lacking something to previous seasons . I'm sure he's always been in the top 4/5 of tackle busts and metres but he's always had more to his game then he's showing now . Maybe lack of ball but he also seems to be taking it in less on the first or second tackle .

As a team we've been dire most the yr n we've gone from being an 80%attack to the left team(his side) to 80%right so no doubt any winger would look down on form he there service had been cut in half n your restricted to carting from dummy half under pressure off a slow play of the ball!
Hopefully holdsworth will return n bring a little more balance to the attack and the weather will come good(which suits Tom s game)

Maybe that's because we aren't getting nothing out of the left side . Why else would we go right after all the success we've had with the left .

Briscoe is not same player for few reasons. He is a heavily marked player.
Just look amount of defenders he attracted in the Wigan game.
2nd he doesnt get enough of the ball . Only time time he does is when he picks up from acting half. In a better structured team he would do far better
