| The target of 10,000 was always a very ambitious one. If we start the season with between 8,000 and 8,500 then that is still not bad going given the continuing poor economic climate. I'm sure the figure will compare well with other clubs. I've not seen many claiming record sales.

Wigan claim to be breaking records.
Passed 8,500 on December 7th

That they may well be doing as they have had a bigger average attendance over the last few years (16K reportedly) and have also seen a period of challenging for all the trophies, GF winners in 2010, SL leaders in 2010 & 2012 & Challenge Cup winner in 2011, success on the pitch brings in the fans.
Hull FC & AP have done well to get at least 8K pass holders after the crap that has been served up on the pitch over the last 7 or so years before AP took over. Also you can not ignore the fact that this region in particular has been hit very hard by the economic climate in the last 18months. You only have to look at Citys lower attendances compared to recent seasons that the economy in this area is biting and biting hard.
So all in all I think its not a bad figure at all to reach and agree 10K would have been a push even if we had kept Manu and got Chase.
I am sure during the season if Gentle and the team play attractive and consistent rugby and we are up there or there abouts then walk up numbers will increase and next season pass numbers will increase.

You would imagine that Wigan and Leeds will continue to set the standard, although I'm not sure how sales are going at Leeds. They are not shouting about records on their website from what I can see.
Warrington have referred to 8,000 sales last season but I've not seen a figure for 2013 pass sales.

About a week before Xmas, we (Leeds) were allegedly up 5% on the corresponding figure from 2011

Not a huge upsurge and certainly fewer than several years ago.

Agree with all off that. I think you might sell a few more than that though. I was reading an article about season ticket sales at football clubs recently (the focus was on clubs outside the top flight) and apparently people tend to underestimate the amount of churn - people moving in and out of the area, getting too old/becoming old enough, losing/taking interest. Was the discount period only for renewals?
I've found seeing the pattern of sales quite an interesting 'experiment'. The idea of the milestone prize draws, which I had thought a very clever idea for getting people to buy early and build momentum, didn't really seem to work. Decent enough prizes, but longish odds and I guess either consciously or subconsciously people saw that and it didn't change much.

I agree with that, things like having a meal with Bomber ain't going to encourage sales imo, however had we secured the services of a good number 7 I consider we would have sold more.
I think if we start the campaign well our attendances will gradually increase, & if we have a good season (better than last) we may see a rise in people prepared to commit to buying a pass.
I do believe it is important that the club reconsider the deadline next time and move it back to Dec 31st.

A variation that maybe could work, in an everyone's a winner is a sort of way, is a 10k IMO, that isn't just the biggest factor, but it is probably bigger than all the rest combined.

after reading the posts after mine, and now that im better informed as to other top teams pass sales. i think it would be fair to say ive definitely over estimated that we could have reached 10k by xmas, and also that ive underestimated how significant the recession has been

| Anybody know what happens when you've fully paid by direct debit? Do they post the pass or does it have to be collected?

Asked this question yesterday whilst getting tickets for friendlies and was informed that they are available for collection at the end of January once the final DD has been debited (for those who applied in Sept), didn't ask whether it could be posted.
